I am torn with how many stars to give this place. We eat here a lot and usually enjoy ourselves. The food is delicious, the wait staff is attentive, and the prices are reasonable. BUT and this is the real deal breaker: the food is almost always not hot enough and we have actually had cold food right off the buffet line. This is a health code violation and is inexcusable. We have repeatedly informed the manager every time we come and find the cold food and each time they act surprised and go look into it, but they are obviously not taking the problem seriously. We often ask the wait staff to go and microwave our plate of food because it is so cold because I just HATE to waste food. My advice to anyone coming here is this, do not come right at 4:00 or 5:00 but rather wait until 6 or later to give the food time to warm up. On a busy Saturday or other busy times the cold food is usually not a problem, but I do not like coming when it is crowded so we wait to eat later. If they would just warm the food properly BEFORE they ever bring it out to the buffet line this place would earn 5 stars, but they are going to eventually be cited by the Health Department and rightly so. I worked in several restaurants over the years and even was a prep cook feeding the buffet line with hot food so I know how it's done and the short cuts that they are taking to pull the food out of the walk-in and throwing it on the buffet line without taking the extra step of warming it up first (preferably not in the microwave but on the stove). Again, we eat here about 4 times a month so I do keep giving them chances and I would recommend Asian Cafe, but do not hesitate to complain if your food is cold and don't be afraid to ask the wait staff to warm...
Read moreI feel bad about what some people think is real Asian cuisine⦠This food is beautiful to look at, appears to be exotic (i.e: from a foreign land), and fits the uninformed expectations of what people with limited exposure to real Asian food think it should look and taste like.
The reality however, is that this food has almost NO (ZERO) Flavor, and has textures and flavors that are created from a combination of Corn-Starch, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Salt, Cooking Oil, and Monosodium Glutamate; Oh ya, and a little Sesame Oil, Soy Sauce, and Food Coloring.
Yet, there are people who really like this ersatz Asian Buffet. But if you want to taste real Asian cuisine, go somewhere else, anywhere else⦠and better yet, go to where Asian people go to eat⦠I guarantee itās not here. Some folks just canāt get past the seduction of the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me start by saying that I really like Chinese food and I'm not that picky. I've been here twice and I have to say that I'll never go back. Most recently, my wife and I went on a Saturday night and there weren't many customers. Most of the food was old at the buffet and did not taste good at all. Chicken was luke warm at best but more on the cool side. The veg lo mein was soggy and the veggies were not good. Got a couple pieces of sushi from the sushi bar and that was all I could stand to eat. And trust me it's not good sushi - mostly tasteless. Best thing they have there is banana pudding over vanilla wafers. The waitress staff here are fine - no problems with service. However, it was not worth the money, not worth the time, and not worth the nausea I suffered after eating here. Not...
