When my wife and I arrived it was fairly busy with all the tables filled except for the counter which seats about 10 to 12 people. We were seated promptly and asked if we wanted coffee since it was late morning. We asked for water and coffee. Asked we wanted sugar and creamer, we said both. Coffee and water came quickly along with cream, but no sugar. I again asked for sugar and waited. She never came back with sugar. I asked another person who was rolling utensils around napkins if I could get some sugar. She said sure and walked away and brought back a handful of 15 to 20 packets of sweetner. Still no sugar like I asked for. This whole process took 15 to 20 minutes. My wife and myself ordered a rather basic breakfast of 2 eggs any style, toast, hash browns and meat of your choice. I asked for my eggs over easy and my wife ordered hers scrambled. From the time we arrived to when we got our food it was between 40 to 45 minutes. Our waitress came over a few minutes prior to our food arriving to apologize and offer some free cookies for having to wait so long. At this point we told her if they haven't started with our food we're leaving. She said she'd check. The food came a few minutes later. My over easy eggs were not over easy. My hash browns were cold and the toast had to to have been stale, and just barely toasted. My wife's scrambled eggs were unpalatable and her toast was also the same as mine. I also wondered why her hash browns were hot, and mine cold? As with most diners we've eaten in they have sitting out a small stand with salt and pepper, sugar and assorted jellies. There was only one for the entire counter that seats about 10 to 12 people. More would have been better in case the counter was full of people. Offering two free cookies for the quality and poor service was pretty insulting. I do not expect a return visit...
Read moreGot there right at opening, 8:00am. The servers and owner were very nice and attentive, offering refills whenever our cups were half full. The owner provided us with a free donut because of our wait. Customer service gets 5 stars. However, we never got our food. We decided to leave at 9:30 after no sign of food headed our way and other tables who arrived after us getting their food before us (mind you, we had a table of two). Some planning and time management is still needed for this place to be successful and turn over tables quicker. Not everyone has time to wait two hours for food. Still holding out hope for this place but will not be back until the turnaround time is quicker.
EDIT: gave this place a second chance. It wasn’t busy, a few tables were still open when we walked in. The food was severely lacking. Extremely bland. I got the sunrise tacos, the scrambled eggs were hard and there was basically no flavor to it. My fiance got the breakfast burrito and he said all he tasted was soggy spinach and blandness. He got the cajun potatoes as well and they tasted frozen, barely had any seasoning. Not worth what they’re charging for basically hospice food. Service was also lacking, asked for extra coffee and hot sauce, never got it while the server was on her phone. The only thing that saves this place is their bakery, which is great. Breakfast is NOT good here at all and we will not be returning except for...
Read moreUpon entering establishment it had a very unique curb appeal that tends to stand out amongst others. As we entered the establishment we were greeted by a gentleman that was very kind. Coffee that was brewed to perfection and that almost seemed to capitalize the wonderful food that we call breakfast, but as for the breakfast it seemed as if the Chef had perfected every single item cooked. I had ordered the Risen Hash and was kind of skeptical of eating tots with breakfast, but it was found to go perfect with the meal. As it wasn't as busy being on a early Wednesday morning, I think that the amount of food ratio to be cooked between the three of us was done in a very timely manor and seemed to go above and beyond. As far as the seating arrangement I see would be for smaller groups (upto 4) but easily arrangement groups of 12 or below pending how busy the restaurant is. The atmosphere seem to have a modern take on a Old Downtown...
