You can live 8 days without food. If I go 8 days without food and the only option to eat is in this place, then I will be dead on the 9th day. You should know that it has nothing to do with the food. I have eaten here many times in the last 20 years and always found the food to be excellent. However here is why I will not give a penny of my money to this diner. As a result of COVID we do a lot of take out orders to different eateries. Park Place was one we called often and we have always had some kind of incident with the people we spoke to or received an incomplete order. Here is the last time and it was the last draw.

I was calling in a take out order for 5 friends, all of whom were in the room with me when I made the calls. The phone was answered and I was told, please hold. After waiting a while I decided to hang up and call again. The same person answered after 2 rings so he obviously forgot about me the first time. I started giving him the order. The first order came with 2 sides. I asked him what the choices were. As he said them, I repeated them to the person whose whose order it was. Before he was finished he hung up on me. I was so angry, I wanted to call another diner. My friend decided to call and before he could start with the order, the recipient of the call, whom I could hear, said angrily that he hopes we are ready with the full order. I heard him and really lost my temper and said, "We need to know what f*ing sides you have" and he hung up. My friend called again and this time the order was placed. When we picked up the order, again something was wrong.

BEWARE

Please note I have to give it at least one star or the...

i have given this diner numerous chances time and time again and if i could give 0 stars i would. i work right by here so we order regularly, and every time there is an issue. today i ordered a salad, chicken fingers, and a club was told 20 min i arrived 22 min later to find out my salad with a veggie burger was still not made nor had any of the other food been done. I was told that everything was done and the guy that was talking to the front desk girl was confused because they had to re-ring my order due to the new girl not ringing it up properly. So when i asked where my food was the nasty skinny girl up at the front (whom i think is the owners daughter) was so rude and nasty telling me it hasn't been 20 min to which i showed my phone to prove it was over that time and then was told my salad and veggie burger was going to take at least 5 more minutes after being told it was already done. I asked what was done which she said the fingers and sandwich (lies) so i told her i had to get back to work and couldn't wait to remove the salad from the bill and give me what was already made. Food wasn't even ready was still waiting for her to go get it didn't get an apology or anything so i told her that there is always an issue and probably wouldn't be back to which she told me i was fighting with her and didn't have to come back as they didn't need the business. Been going to this dinner since i was in high school but best believe i will never go there again there is plenty of other places like court jester or matawan diner that i think people should bring there business so it can be...

I’ve never had an issue with this place until recently. When my coworkers and I ordered food from here a couple weeks ago, I went in to the store to pick it up. The person who rung me out gave me my receipt. I asked if I could please have an itemized receipt (so my coworkers and I could know how to split the bill) and he said “You should have asked me before. I can’t give you one.” I’m like ??? Never have I had an issue anywhere before with asking for an itemized receipt. He starts sighing at me. I said I would really like a copy of the receipt and he rips his copy of the itemized receipt off of his pile and throws it at me. I’m like, okay, great thanks. Sorry for being such an inconvenience. And he’s like “No no it’s fine” as if he didn’t just shove a receipt at me. So silly, I work in customer service and there is such a better way to handle that situation. I would have been fine taking a photo of the receipt. Anything was better than him shaking his head at me, sighing at me, and being incredibly rude overall. Not to mention the food my coworker ordered was so overpriced and honestly tasted so horrible that she ended up returning it. I will definitely not be going back here after such an overall poor experience. Don’t know what happened to this place, it used...

I was waiting to see if this person was going to give a negative review. I am the gentleman who was sitting in the next booth to this half truth telling man, Saturday night. Did he pay $5.30 for A cup of tea? Absolutely not. A cup of tea here is 2.65 you get 1 bag. If you want another, they give it to you, no problem, no charge. This guy got 2 bags at one time "because he lives his tea strong." they ordered 2 more tea bags. Then got all upset for getting charged for 2 teas. To set the record straight he got 4 tea bags for $5.30. He did complain to the owner, that he did. The owners there are more than fair and very good people. The owner was explaining just because he likes 2 tea bags at a time does not entitle him not to pay for the extra 2 he received.. Not defensive, just matter of fact. You wrote this negative review using false statements. And left out, you also stiffed the waitress. I go to this diner every Saturday, ( at least) You aren't going to get a better meal for the money. I met all the owners ALL GREAT people. This guy is a bad apple trying to leave a bad review because he didn't "get over" on this place.

Excellent food and service! We were there for breakfast, and both had a cheddar cheese and broccoli omelet. The omelet and accompanying home fries were quite good. I thought that the broccoli was cut a bit too large for inclusion in an omelet, but that's a matter of personal taste. The atmosphere was fine, but just like many other NJ diners. One interesting point is that there was one employee whose only job seemed to be roaming among the tables and refilling coffee. I have never seen that before, and though it was a great idea. I was a little surprised that there was a charge of what I estimated to be 3% of the total bill labeled something like "post-payment fee." The cashier confirmed that this fee was to cover what the credit card company charges the diner. I understand that the diner removes this fee at checkout if you pay cash. Overall, it is definitely worth a visit, but bring cash to avoid the credit card fee.

Whenever I visit a new diner, I have a rule that I MUST order a burger and fries - as that is my barometer of finding a great diner. This cheeseburger deluxe was amazing! The patty was oversized and perfectly maximized the bun to burger ratio. It had an enjoyable grill taste, which was enhanced by the cool lettuce and tomato. I asked for crispy fries, and that’s exactly how they came out. We dropped in on a Saturday around noon and our server was Trish; even though she was hustling from table to table, she still made time to be extremely polite, attentive, and kind. It was a great meal and a perfect visit.
