Carvel — Restaurant in Matawan

We usually get Carvel ice cream at a place closer to our home in Freehold. But recently, my husband was picking up take out from Park Place Diner next door to this Carvel on 34 and had a cooler bag with him, so decided to get some ice cream. I didn't realize that the same brand of ice cream could taste different....but this one is noticeably better. It is creamier and just plain tastes wonderful! We now get it from this one whenever we can. The only reason for 4 Stars and not 5 is that sometimes we get noticeably less in the cup. So their portions are not consistent.

UPDATE Dec 31, 2021- We've noticed lately, that they will fill the cup around the outer inside edge, not filling in across the center until later. It leaves a big hole in the center with no ice cream. You don't notice it until you eat through the top portion. Removed a...

Went here on a Wed for BOGO sundaes. I asked the girl working if hard ice cream as well and she said yes. Then while she’s making our ice cream the manager I guess tells her that it’s not part of the special, not to me, I found out it wasn’t part of the special because I was charged $16 for two sundaes... be a MANAGER and apologize for your employee being wrong and then tell me. Seriously??? Stopped here so my 14 yr old could run in and get a sundae. I gave her $8 thinking that would cover a sundae. Suddenly she's waving at me through the window to come in. She said she needed more money. Really? So I grab a $20 from my pocket, give it to her and go back to the car. When she gets back in the car I asked her how much that stupid sundae cost and she preceded to tell me that the total was $8.03!!!!!! Are you serious????
