Come ONLY for the convenience of being close to the area or your Hotel. Very average food, and average service.
Our family came to Longhi's for both breakfast and dinner, both were mostly a disappointment.
DINNER: Dinner is usually more packed than breakfast, as it's the only sit-down restaurant on the Marriot property, even though this place is NOT part of the hotel (can't do room charges here). The food for dinner was just ok, portions were just OK, not great. I ordered a Chicken Piccata, although taste-wise it was ok, it only came with one chicken breast (usually most places in the US give you at least 2 chicken breasts when ordering Piccata). Rest of dinner was just OK. Price is too high compared to the quality of the food/service. Yes, Hawaii is obviously expensive everywhere, so if you're already going to spend so much money, go elsewhere..
BREAKFAST: Place had less than 25% of tables used, and maybe the average/below average food quality, average service, and overall not so great place is likely the reason people don't want to come here for breakfast... plus, yes, it's too expensive considering the low value for your money here.
We came with 2 kids (3 year old and 9 month old), and ordered 2 boiled eggs for one of our kids, and got 2 poached eggs (Yes, we were warned by our server they don't do boiled eggs, but she said she'll request them anyway). She brought poached eggs, instead of saying "No, they can't do them". But why would a $$$ (3 dollar sign restaurant) not have a chef who can do 2 boiled eggs. Not so hard... is it? Additionally, once we said our girl obviously didn't want the poached eggs, we asked for 2 scrambled eggs (which came quick, and as expected). We were charged $12 for each set of 2 eggs ($24 total), which is a total crazy prize for a side of a total of 4 eggs (half not delivered as ordered, nor told it can't be done once the server asked). We were hoping they'd only charge for 1 of the 2 sets of eggs due to their bad service.. but not the case.
Their brewed coffee also tastes pretty bad. So don't wasted your time or money here... unless again, it's just convenient to sit here so you don't go to far from the Marriot
Hey, at least the eggs benedicts were good.
Paid $150+tip ($170+) for breakfast for 4 adults and 2 children,...
Read moreIt was our honeymoon, we went out for an early dinner and thus place was highly recommended by my in laws. BUT they said go for breakfast..shoulda listened. My husband got chicken picatta I got the filet w bearnaise. His chicken picatta...its clearly a previously frozen breaded chicken breast. The white wine sauce was broken. The spinach a "roasted tomato" were COLD the spinach was completely raw. My filet I ordered medium.. yeah I know it's supposed to be medium rare maybe they're one of those places that won't let you get it the way you want it they insist on cooking it the way it should be. But it was very rare. And the funkiest cut of filet I've ever seen. It was not tender it was not buttery it had zero flavor and was so bloody that my whole plate after a few Cuts was covered in blood. The base of my cold mashed potatoes was covered in blood and my little cup of extremely cold bearnaise was covered in blood. It was obvious that we were not happy I didn't eat any more of my food my husband and I switched plates we left leaving most of our food on the plate. Server seemed confused a manager came over and asked if everything was okay we didn't even want to deal with another terrible dining experience because we did not have good luck on our trip. So we said yes everything's fine no we don't want to box we just want our check. And they let us pay a hundred bucks and walk out. I work in the restaurant industry and if it's obvious that someone is not happy I'm not going to let them walk out un happy if they say everything is fine and they've left everything on their plate and don't want a box I try to dig deeper I try to fix the situation tell me what I can do to make this a good experience for you.. But none of that here oh well you live and you learn I guess next time we're in Maui we will try breakfast there give it...
Read moreThis was a major disappointment. It was not a busy night. I am also aware that all industries have been hard hit with lack of workers (including my industry that is also understaffed).
That being said, we were more than patient that the main courses were delayed over 45 minutes after the appetizers were served. When the main courses finally arrived, only 4 of the 5 dishes had come out. My dish wasn't even ready. I asked the served to cancel my meal altogether. To his credit, he offered to have my food comped and sent to go. That wasn't exactly feasible as we are not local so there was no way that seared ahi tuna was even going to be decent getting back to the hotel. Not to mention, we were out with friends which would have made it awkward to have everyone wait AND watch me eat my meal as they are all done eating.
The kitchen tried to comp food due to the delay. If they were sincere in their gesture, something other thank a cooked artichoke would have made more meaning.
The bill arrived, and it was not correct. The server tried correct the mistake. A few guests decided on dessert. Despite my dish getting cancelled and all of our dishes significantly delayed, there was not even an offer to comp even one dessert.
The three star reviews all make sense looking at this now.
To our server's credit, he had tried. And yes the kitchen was at fault. But there was not even any warning there was a significant delay in the meals.
Skip this overpriced, slow serving restaurant, and pick from the remaining restaurants in the area that cost less but with much better...
