Ono Teppanyaki & Seafood — Restaurant in Maui

The food was decent, but the service was appalling. I honestly don’t want to return after this experience. This has happened multiple times already. At first, I thought it might have been a mistake, but after the second and third occurrences, it feels intentional. Every time I place an order, the cashier pressures me to give more tip, even though I've already paid for the food, which isn't exactly cheap as food trucks. The reason I choose food trucks is to save a bit of money, despite having to brave the cold outside. Sometimes, when I do good tip, the food takes a normal amount of time to arrive. However, what angered me yesterday was that after I placed my order, a woman behind me ordered, followed by another man. The woman received her food first, and I assumed I would be next since she ordered something simple. Instead, they called the other man before me. It seems that the more you tip, the quicker your food comes, and if you don’t tip or give a smaller tip, you end up waiting much longer. They have completely...

Okay....so we definitely know Seafood and are very picky. I mean my husband born and raised Big Island is a diver so....fish os kinda their thing in our Ohana....

Hmmmm where to start.

PRICE.....honestly it's so affordable for the plate size and the quality of the fish. Pretty important to know your getting well above what the price per plate is.. 🥰

Seasoning....Yep...pretty much on point. Doesn't overpower the yummyness of the fish. Just the right amount of salt!

What we ordered Lobster and shrimp....5stars! Ahi and veggies....5star I will say one super noticeable treat...it was cooked just right...the Ahi still pick inside with a nice thick laryer of grill and juices... So so ONO!

All food trucks ESPECIALLY fish trucks in Hawaii are NOT created equal...so far(and I have tried alot) this is my favorite in Maui!

Also other items than just fish...but that's what really pulled us in to eat...

Short story: good food, long wait, less than mediocre service. My food was very good, but the Explanation: My wait and service were very frustrating. I was with a group who ordered from other trucks. I ordered my food before them, but got my food about 30 minutes (after everyone in my group. (otaling about 40 minute wait for my food) I realize the lobster takes some time to prepare. I watched several people place their orders after me at Ono and get their food before I received mine. I should have taken the clue from the lady who was frustrated with her wait and was asking about her food prior to me ordering my food. The staff was not all concerned about the inconvenience. I stay at the courtyard frequently and go to the trucks every time. If I patronize Ono again, I shall phone order. So many better options in the area. I have received better service from all of the...
