Pau Huaka'i — Restaurant in Maui

We stopped by here nearly every day of our vacation on Maui. The staff were exceptional, especially Max and Caitlyn. Both of them went above and beyond for us. The food was fantastic. The sliders appetizers, both beef and pulled pork, were delicious and more than enough for a meal. The wings were great. My favorite was the garlic parmesan fries. Poor quality bar drinks and food. The "lemonade" is from the bar gun, nothing quality or fresh squeezed or even close to tasting like lemonade. Even the orange juice was low budget. Didn't even taste like orange juice... More like orange colored water. They try to trick your taste buds by squeezing an actual orange wedge into it but it doesn't work. The nachos were ok, that's why it got 2 stars. Everything else... Hard pass. The watermelon salad was just a giant chunk of watermelon on spinach. Super...

Food, drinks, and service is great however charging additional fees ($3) for wanting french fries that would regularly come as a side is ridiculous. As well there is price gouging by charging an extra $2 per order that only takes away the amount of food you get, to make food follow some dietary restrictions like celiac (which can be just as life threatening as other allergies) for health reasons but not for other allergies like a peanut allergy.This is disheartening and discrediting for a 5 star...
