On 4-6-25 my husband placed an online order for drive-thru pick-up. I arrived at the drive-thru at 6:07pm and told them I was there to pick up an order for James Furr. They confirmed the order (16 piece family meal with fries, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, extra biscuits, and a pickle lemonade) and told me to pull around. Once I was at the window, they asked me to pull forward while the food was cooking. 20 minutes later I was asked to pull forward more so another car could pull forward behind me and wait also. After waiting 40 minutes, at 6:47 I went inside the restaurant. I explained that I had been waiting for 40 minutes for my order. One of the employees mumbled under his breath, "It's 16 pieces of chicken mam" to which I responded, "It takes more than 40 minutes to make 16 pieces of chicken??" There seemed to be 2 managers and 3 other employees working as well, so it wasn't a short-staffed issue. During my 40 minute wait, I saw numerous people come and go with their food. Once I was inside, one of the employees went out to deliver to the car that was waiting behind me! I received my order at 6:59pm, 52 minutes from the time I first got to the drive-thru. Waiting 52 minutes for a $64 order is absolutely ridiculous! Nothing was done to try and fix the situation, not even a sorry or anything. If anything, they seemed annoyed that I was complaining. The other customers inside were sympathetic and were telling me to ask for my money back and that there was no way they would wait as long as I did. While inside, I read the employee board, which said things to the effect of fixing times, listening to the customers, and trying to improve their overall rating number. None of this was done. We are a Bojangles family but wanted to give Popeyes a chance. We will stick to Bojangles for...
Read morePlaced my order online thinking that would make a difference on the wait. All it did was lock me in so I couldn't leave since I had already paid. Placed order at 7:15 for pick-up at 7:30. Others were standing around the counter, so I wasn't able to tell them I had the online order until 7:35. Nothing was started. They didn't have any cajun shrimp, so the substituted popcorn shrimp. They didn't have any chicken sandwiches so they gave me some pieces of chicken. Per the conversations of the employees, the sandwich patties were all frozen together. They appeared to be fully staffed, but only half of the were working. One was on her phone and three of the teenage boys just decided it was "break time". I'm not sure what they were taking a break from, since all they were doing was chit chatting and standing around. The Manager was working hard and tried to appease me by giving me some extra portions. But sadly the food wasn't that good. Some of the tenders were hard to eat. The breading was so thick & hard, not "light and crunchy". What chicken there was was super tough and chewy. I finally got my food and was walking out the door at 7:45. I realize its still relatively new, but with lines around the building, there shouldn't be employees standing around. With all of the changes to the meanings of words now days, I guess the term work-ethic has faded away as well. Sigh. I didn't listen to my wife and gave them a try. I'm sure some won't heed this review. But I won't be back anytime soon. The one thing Mauldin has are good chicken places and this isn't...
Read morethis might possibly be the worst Popeyes in the area. I've been testing this place and today makes 4 consecutive visits in the last 4 months that this place needs to be shut down and retrained or new management. Two of the visits their chicken wait time was 30+ min because they didn't have any....a chicken place not having any chicken, what's next, Best Buy not having any electronics?! Another time they legit had 8 different people waiting for their orders and a drive thru line wrapped around the bldg and into the street, and this most recent time (08/10/22) the manager must've not ordered the correct inventory, they didn't have tenders, most of the sides, boneless or any dark meat ready...WHAT ARE YOU ALL DOING?! I was excited having a Popeyes this close because Im a fatty and love the red beans & rice with spicy dark meat...haven't been able to enjoy the Popeyes close to my home in almost half a year. the manager/owner knows how sorry this place is, that's why they don't respond to any reviews, there aren't any excuses. EDIT: back again a few months later and STILL the same lol! been in drive thru for 30+ min, the line is wrapped around the building AND the dining room is closed 3 hours earlier than posted closing time. they actually spent money on a nice window sticker about store hours and they don't even honor it! I'm sure they're understaffed because they're poorly managed. also I'm gonna bet they'll be out of a few things when/if I...
