Overall, it was a great experience. When we entered, we were greeted immediately. We came out of not so busy time, so we were seated quickly. Our server took some time to come back to our table to get our food order, but that was really the only downside of the service. Everyone was attentivethe rest of the time. The salsa bar is nice, and there's a good variety of different spicy sauces to try. I really enjoyed my Tamal that I had. it was chicken. The chicken was a little dry, and you could tell it was a frozen Tamal at one point. Was not spicy at all. This was disappointing to me because I like it spicy but is a nice feature to have for people who aren't a big fan of spicy foods. The spicy salsa was delicious. I put that over the Tamal to make it spicy. My enchiladas were really good! the sauce, the seasonings, and the rice were excellent. The chicken inside could have been seasoned more. Tasted somewhat Bland, but I understand that Americanized Mexican food is to appeal to a large demographic of people. So, I just added more salsa to add more flavor to my enchiladas. My husband got the birria tacos, which were fantastic. The consume was flavorful and added so much depth to his food. I would definitely recommend this place for people who love texmex / American style Mexican food. There was a small amount of parking at the small parking lot. My husband and I try not to go to restaurants during busy hours. So we found parking easily. The menu does include vegetarian options in a vegetarian section of the menu. All the menu items are clearly labeled, and descriptions are detailed. I definitely will come back to eat again...

I have NEVER had a worse experience at a Mexican Restaurant then I did at Taqueria Picante!!! I am a waitress myself so I normally dont write negative reviews for restaurants unless its ABSOLUTELY horrible. For starters we ordered 2 appetizers, the cheese dip was so watery and didn't taste like cheese, the guacamole was so mushy it was texture of baby food. The chips were even bad which I couldn't believe!!! They were so paper thin that you couldn't eat it with any of the dips we ordered because they would all just break!!! Our entrees, my wife ordered a chicken salad and the lettuce was mushy and the chicken had absolutely no flavor at all, tasted like it was soaked in water for hours!! I ordered a ribeye and it was so overcooked and tough and rubbery and was mostly fat that I could not even eat it!!! They over charged us for the salad and the appetizers so we paid almost $30 for my wife to eat a salad that had no flavor!!! Our server NEVER asked if our food was good AND didnt even apologize when I told him it was so bad that I couldn't eat it!! I dont like to say this about any restaurants but people need to know quality of a restaurant, so I would have to so I DEFINITELY would NOT recommend this restaurant to ANYONE!!! This photo is supposed to be their cheese dip and...

BEWARE! Save your time and money from this dreadful establishment. They have food/drink on their online menu that they don’t even have available. And if you order takeout, you’ll have no idea. If you place an online order for food and pay, they won’t refund you if something you ordered isn’t available from their menu. They will just leave it out all together, or they will try to sell you something else once you make them aware and tell them you want a refund for the unavailable item. Both situations happened to us. They left out part of our takeout order, (a tamale) which we only realized after getting home. After calling about it, they said it couldn’t be refunded and to come back for it. Upon going back to their restaurant, we were then informed they don’t have tamales. Again, they offered a different food in place of a refund. Is this a joke?! The food was mediocre at best, and we will never give this place our time or business...

Hands down the best Mexican food in town I love that the menu have traditional Mexican dishes the ones that you crave about when you can’t have it all the time we have a pleasure of visiting this place for the first time and oh my God food was amazing the flavors were awesome the staff was so friendly they kept checking on us like every couple of minutes to make sure that we were OK they were patient with us when it was time to order they made us special Margaritas off the menu with fresh lime. All the ingredients in the cocktails were fresh. The flavors were hands-down my favorite margarita had in a long time. You can tell that the food was made with love the prices was awesome. You can get a dish under $20 but then it’s enough for the next day 10 out of 10 for experience, customer services and the food you can’t go wrong with this one I got this restaurant recommended by the Facebook group @Greenvillefoodies

The interior is nice and clean. The salsa bar is well-maintained with an enormous selection of flavors to go through. The hottest is about 1/3 of a habanero in heat and smoky in flavor. The consistency is pasty. None of the other salsas at the bar are spicy. Like 1/8th a jalapeno at most. Same with the salsas for the chips. The one in the red container is the "hot" one and it's like 1/8th a jalapeno. The yellow one is no heat and it's honestly kind of weird in flavor. I wouldn't go for it. The chips are and thick here and I honestly like that about them, unique. Not too much chimicurri on the chimicurri burrito but honestly if you like queso and steak it's bomb. The servers are good here, everyone speaks English well enough and they always try to have two people by the door. It too me a sec to get my server but other people had an easier time so YMMV.
