CC's Sweets Bake Shop — Restaurant in McAllen

This was my first time ordering a cake from them, which I was pretty excited about, only to make it my last... I had my bf order me one of their special valentine cakes they were promoting. I had been wanting one since 2024, and I finally got to order it. When I saw the two prices listed for the size, I thought to myself damn that's outrageous, but I guess with this "egg shortage," and it's a small owned business I'll give it a try. When my bf picked up the cake, he warned me that I might be upset. Why would I be upset if I knew what I ordered? Well, he was right. I couldn't believe how freaking tiny that expensive cake was! I have paid $50-$60 for cakes plenty of times, and they were a great size, exactly what I paid for. But this!? This was a slap to the face. Yes, I knew what I ordered and the size, but wow, that was just unbelievable! No cake that small should ever be that price. H-E-B sells the exact same size for $10.00! I got ripped off completely... the cake didn't even taste good... it was dry and not soft at all. But no thinking to myself, let me just give them a shot, I get screwed over. I should have read the reviews before ordering. I guess that was my mistake... I still went through with my order after seeing that Walmart was making that same cake for $24 AND regular size. I should have trusted my instinct cause now I get screwed over, a $50 cake that has no taste ends up in the trash. I hope someone reads this and learns...

Stopped by for wizard fest stuff and I was so excited to try it out!

For $75 worth of stuff, I was SOOOOO freaking disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, the piping and decor was spot on a beautiful, the taste though? The quality? Absolutely not!

I bought 3 cupcakes which were fine. Moist. Nothing wrong with them. Pricey though, would not get again. It was just one color for piping and just one flavor bread…$4.50? Yeah no. ($13.50)

ALL THE MACARONS I WISH I COULD RETURN AND JUST GET ALL MY MONEY BACK. I bought $17 worth of them. Some had hard, dried up, gummy parts in it (I’m assuming it’s the cookie?) and on others the cookie just broke in and collapsed. The taste was just not it at all. Tasted old even. But it was the quality for me that ruined it.

The pumpkin pastie ($3) tasted burnt. It was not good.

I also bought $36 worth of decorative cookies and nothing wrong with those. Just your standard cookie. $6 is crazy for each but the decor I’m sure took a while so I understand. Not something I would by again though for the price.

I have never in my life spent so much money on sweets but because of this event I was like what the heck let me just splurge this once and I won’t...

If I could give zero stars I would. I placed an order for Elf of the shelf cookies as a surprise to arrive with the elves, and online it let me place the order for 12/2/2020 , and in full transparency I did not read that it stated it would be available 12/5/20. The error on that was on my end, however when I called I was informed by the Owner about that, I was upset (Not rude, NOT Yelling, NOT cursing, NOT disrespectful). She offered to give me the money back and I said yes and I was hanging up, Roberta went on to yell "Never order from me again you" and proceeding to slamming the phone on what I believe was the counter several times before she hung up on me. I called back and let the know that I had been a loyal customer for a long time, and if she insisted on throwing a tantrum and being ugly, the least she could do is hang up the phone first. I'm truly hurt because it was unnecessary. She called back to apologize but it was still a very hurtful experience. I wish you well, but I will no longer be ordering from CC's Sweets. Hopefully others will have better customer...
