Logan's Roadhouse — Restaurant in McAllen

This is one of my favorite restaurants and the service and food are usually great. Today my Buttermilk fried chicken was hot, BUT the chicken was very greasy. It seemed that it wasn't drained enough time.

The manager did bring me another buttermilk chicken and it was better than the first plate. Thank You great service!!

Visited this same location yesterday June 22, 2021 around 7:00 p.m., it was a stark contrast from my previous visit. I picked-up my sister from the Airport and we were both very hungry. We were sat in the bar area in a booth. We noticed it took a little bit longer for our drink order but we just said it's okay the waitress will get to us. 15 minutes later still no drink order we waived down a Logan's employee and she did get our drink order. We told the lady that brought the drink's we were ready to place order. She indicated she was not our waitress but she would get our waitress We told the lady we were hungry and wanted to place our order please let our waitress know. 10 minutes later the waitress finally arrived we placed our dinner order my sister ordered the fish and I ordered the grilled chicken with peppercorn dressing. I requested extra dressing because I don't like my chicken with little sauce. Our salads took awhile to come out but I just wanted to eat. We ate our salads at a leisurely pace and our order still was not at our table. We waited for an additional 20 minutes and finally our order arrived but the grilled chicken had very little peppercorn dressing, so I requested to the lady please bring me extra. The lady that delivered plates was not the same person that took our dinner order. My sister's fish was over cooked and it was dry. The fish looked dark brown. We waited for our waitress to return to our table but after 15 minutes of waiting for her. I decided to take the plate to kitchen area myself. I asked for Manager and a lady came out and explained our experience with the delay and service and the overcooked fish. She indicated she would make another plate. The plate finally came back to our table my sister tasted the fish and she said it was okay. I again requested more peppercorn dressing for my grilled chicken the manager I guess thought the waitress was going to bring out but NO ONE brought it out. The waitress brought us napkins BUT again NO dressing. Short memory span....or what?? I was finally fed up I asked for the ticket and that was brought out to me in 10 seconds. I reviewed bill and I waited with my credit card to pay for my meal But OUR waitress again NEVER SHOWED UP..... 10, 15, 20 minutes passed still NO ONE to charge me. I finally got up and told an employee I guess I"m leaving because we have been waiting to pay for our bill but NO ONE showed UP!! I walked out and sat in the waiting area waiting for someone. Finally the female manager showed up charged me and I left. The service in the evening is lousy... and manager needs to be more attentive. She's always in the back... she's says she's helping the cooks?? Come on your supposed to be in the front making sure customers have their meals correctly and the customer's...

I had called ahead because I am on a ton of dietary restrictions for medical reasons and haven’t been to a restaurant to eat out in a while since no one seems accommodating. Well we went in to this location of Logan’s Roadhouse because when I called they were very nice and sounded super accommodating. Once we got in, we were seated immediately and asked about our drink order shortly after that. We finally got to the point we were ready to order and I asked questions to the waiter to make sure all the food was ordered within my restrictions. The waiter (Frank) was very nice and accommodating. Everything was ordered correctly and came in on time. The only thing I will say is that even though Frank had ordered my steak medium rare, it came back medium well-well. Frank said he could get me a new one and was very nice about it, but it was in fact the kitchen that had cooked it incorrectly however I ate it as is because I hate throwing food out. The steak was seasoned to perfection though and the meal was delicious. Frank also made us a fresh pot of coffee before serving us any and the coffee was great as well. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere at with a great waiter and tasty food, we could not have had a better time. The only thing I will say is that the steak could have been cooked as requested, but the seasoning and the will to correct the mistake made up for that. Great place to enjoy with family and Frank is the best waiter...

Start off by saying we only came here bcs Longhorn wait was insane & we were really hungry! Longest wait for worst food ever !!! & I still paid $130 for 4 people! Arrived a few minutes before 8 & were told we would have a 20 min wait for seating- which was fine.. then randomly (never saw anyone walk out during that time) we were told there was a table available.. we were walked to the far back on the left .. we ordered our starter & then out food by 8:15 .. when we finally got our apps (tater skins) they were visibly burnt, old & obviously been sitting in the kitchen for some time, this aside from no sour cream being provided (had to ask) We then waited for over an hour for our entrées to finally arrive - this was after we had to repeat our order to who I think was the manager (he never introduced himself) bcs apparently they only had half the order taken … When the food was eventually brought out (around 9 something) half was cold, steaks weren’t cooked to medium well as requested… ribs were also cold .. fries & Mac & cheese super old … I then asked to have 2 entrées removed from our ticket (as no one ate them) they declined & still charged for 1 of those.. I honestly only paid & walked out bcs of how nice & attentive our server was.. but...
