Ulike Tea — Restaurant in McAllen

My fiancé and I have been frequenting Ulike Tea for quite some time now. At first, we came in as customers simply wanting to try a new milk tea spot. Upon entering, we were greeted with a warm welcome, friendly faces, and a very clean environment. Seeing that it was our first time there, we were hoping for some recommendations. The person attending us at the time was beyond friendly and went over the drink menu with us. We ended up leaving with a Ulike and Fresh Milk Tea. To say the least, they were absolutely delicious. Hands down, the best milk tea we have ever had and we’ve had quite a few milk teas in our day! We hadn’t even left the parking lot when we decided to go back for round two. It was from that day that we knew that was our new milk tea spot! Furthermore, after a few more times at Ulike Tea, we quickly transitioned from loyal customers to friends of the owners and staff. Although we like to consider ourselves their friends, we would like to point out that everyone at this fine establishment treats every person that walks through their doors with the utmost of respect, attentiveness, and kindness. Anything otherwise clearly does not reflect the attributes and professionalism of this business, the owners, and their staff.

Furthermore, it goes without saying that Ulike Tea is by far one of the best businesses that McAllen has. From their family-oriented service to the wonderful events that they host all the way down to their quality and absolutely delicious food and drinks. If you get the chance to visit, you’ll be happy you did and will surely return. If not, why…. you’re missing out!

The nicest people ever! The owners and their staff always greet their customers with a smile and friendly tone. Any time anyone needs anything they jump at the chance to help! The inside is very clean and orderly, beautifully decorated and lovingly managed. When asked about their dishes and drinks the staff always give vivid descriptions of flavors to help you understand what you’re buying. They also hold a lot of events for things like k-pop and such, which I find super fun. I’ve attended said events and the staff is so hard working and willing to help the event coordinators and customers even if it gets super busy. These are genuinely some of the best people that make the best boba and dishes. If you read a bad review, take a second to doubt it because people I know and I myself have been going for a while and each time would rate our experience a 10/10.

My daughter really wanted a drink with boba beads. I looked up a few places and we realized they may be closed by the time we arrived. No one answered when we called, but their sign said, "Open," and their doors were open.

Four people off to the side started screaming at us that they were closed, so I asked if we could just get 1 drink. One of them said it was fine and everyone else started talking and laughing even louder in their native language. It was to the point where we couldn't even hear ourselves as we placed our order. We quickly ordered a very expensive (almost $8) fruity drink, but we noticed a strong smell. Off to the side, there was a nail salon and the smell was polish and acrylic powder.

The fruit in the drink was decent, but the green tea was disgusting and the tapioca beads tasted the way perfume smells; definitely not a taste you want in a drink.
