Warning! This is a long, POSITIVE review!
What an absolutely pleasant experience! I discovered this place thanks to the "Southern Oregon Foodies" group. They caught my eye with the soup flights!
Heading down the beautifully lit stairway, you enter a space that gives me chic and modern speak easy vibes. The lighting is perfect for photos, and I absolutely love the wallpaper and decor. The staff was helpful, kind, and considerate of the fact that we were brand new to the space and may have a few questions.
We ordered a plethora of options from the menu to eat there, and added more to-go after our feast!
We ordered a snack platter, that had some sweet and cinnamon popcorn, savory seasoned and roasted warm nuts, and some marinated warmed castelvatrano olives. My favorite was definitely the olives!
We also ordered the duck leg paté. My favorite. The meat and duck fat melted in my mouth with just the right mixture of sweet to savory. The pickled veggies that came with were to absolutely die for, and cut the richness of the paté and toast perfectly. My favorite was the califlower.
We each had a soup flight, and agreed that the carrot curry soup was hands down the best of the three. Light and silky smooth with the perfect amount of spice and back-of-the throat burn. Perfect amount of heat. I am not sure if they topped it with sweet chili glaze or some sort of pepper infused honey, but it was over the top delicious! The clam chowder was more of a thinner soup than a thick chowder and I loved it. The broth had developed a wonderful flavor and the clams were soft and not chewy. The green goddess soup with chicken and orzo left a little to be desired, but was delicious none-the-less.
Last and not least, for dine-in, we ordered the three toast plate. One came with well seasoned mushrooms and parsley, the second had pepper spread(I think) with tuna and onions, and the last had mozzarella and balsamic glaze. My only critique would have been to add tomato and basil to the mozz toast. It would have put it all the way over the top.
We ordered the candied bacon deviled eggs to-go. The came with a crumble of bleu cheese on top and they were phenomenal. We also ordered the turkey meatballs with polenta and red sauce, and they were bursting with flavor, and absolutely delicious. We ordered the open faced dip sandwich for my friend's teen son who was at home and he devoured it Said it was amazing!
All-in-all, it was an amazing experience. I can't wait to return to try the rest of the menu. And for a decent price as well! For all the food we ordered, it was just over one hundred dollars with twenty percent gratuity. That is just over one hundred dollars for three appetizers, five entrees, and an extra bowl of soup to take home! Well priced, delicious, and wonderful atmosphere. I can't wait to take more people here! I look forward to coming again, and tasting some hand selected wines! See you soon, Bea...
Read moreWe stopped in 30 minutes before closing and received a warm, friendly welcome. We eat clean, gluten free and organically at home, and this absolutely delicious food was soul satisfying and just like my home cooking only better. They had me at the carrot coconut soup with perfectly blended spices to give a little heat and depth but nothing this mild salsa girl couldn't handle. The NY cheesecake is perfection and gluten free. Our bowls-- Mediterranean and Santa Fe -- we're prepped with excellent dressings and super fresh veggies and meats. I enjoyed an organic, sulfite-free red wine and fresh flowers. Great for book lovers. Check out their Silent Book Club or leave your last book you read and share with others. We went home with a free bag of popcorn. What's not to like about this place?! Loved the comfy vibe, cozy feel, and arm chairs for eating or reading. SUCH...
