Beerworks — Restaurant in Medford

Rude and confrontational bartender who refused to serve me without an ID (I’m 37), and then refused to serve me once I came back with my ID. Accused me of being drunk as the original reason why he would not serve me, which is a lie. I had two beers within two hours at other bars, then went to have dinner, get my ID, and return.

I was determined to give this place a shot because I wasn’t familiar with it. I’m quite disturbed and taken aback by the physically aggressive, agitated, and threatening posture and treatment from the bartender.

Beerworks is clearly the beer hub for Medford. They have a small selection of taps, but you can expect to find something unique or new every time you go. Where Beerworks really shines is their vast bottle selection. You can expect to find beers from all over the country and even some unique imports. Considering how small of a bottle shop they are, and how small Medford is on the beer scene, the bottle selection is impressive. They are very dog friendly but they can get busy/crowded on the weekends so just keep that in mind if you want to bring your furry friend. It’s always a strange feeling leaving home and walking into an establishment that feels more like home. Without Derrick and his amazing family like service, beerworks would just not be the same. His happy character, ability to relate to any person, and playful banter makes it feel like I am home, talking with a brother. His charisma is overwhelmingly joyful, and yet, has a vey serious how can I please and serve you aspect, surrounded by knowledge of the products the have.
