I hate to do this because I did love this place so much before but today I couldn't really just sit by with how much we spent. We waited for 30 minutes and only recieved water and not only that had been forgotten about two seperate times. When we were already ready to order since 5 mins in. The lady serving us/was our waitress rushed us by saying "i'll come back!" Before me or my fiancé could finish even stating our order that we already had ready to go. So I had to basically place my hand up to stop her because she would have walked off and left us waiting for much longer. After we put all our orders in we had noticed people without reservations being served before us even getting our appetizers or soup.
The wait for all of our food is still ongoing our reservation at 6pm and it now being 7:12pm as I begin writing this out. We were understanding due to it being Valentines day and all but with the price of the food and the quality of service it is just too much for me not to make this sad review as much as it pains me to do so. The eggdrop soup tasted rubbery and sadly wasn't up to taste for me or even my fiancé (he finished it but it was only due to us spending the money and the waitress not coming over frequently enough for us to even begin to process on asking for a refund even though we truthfully wish we could of gotten one given the lack of food quality in the egg drop soup) The crawfish on the volcano roll was undercooked and also wasn't the best in quality coming across as not fresh.
My fiancé recieved both his sushi, however I am still waiting on my pork lo mein (without mushroom and broccoli) as I write this review. Updating the review as of 7:23 I have recieved my pork lo mein and unfortunately the quality of the noodles has gone down since my last visit as well, the noodles lacking much taste at all even with soysauce whereas in the past the noodles had atleast some flavor to them.
Deciding to just pack up and take to go because I don't even know where to begin unfortunately with the disappointment in flavor of the food. It really does pain me to make this review given how much I have always adored this place, even coming here with friends multiple times in the past and on dates with my fiancé.
The only positive in this wasn't even our server, but a gentleman in black and khaki's with short dark brown hair who was literally running back and forth to make sure guests were served and taken care of on time and even handing things to waitresses. This man deserves a raise, I wish I asked his name.
We've decided to leave before finishing the rest of our food and unfortunately we are not sure if we will be coming back. The only positives in the food being the calamari, and our alcohol beverages however with it mostly being ice for $13 it still adds...
Read moreVery odd experience yesterday. My son and I walked in the host, possibly manager, asked how many, we said two. Then he said nothing else and picked up a carry out order and looked at that, looked thru some receipts and said nothing else. Then a younger man walked past us with menus, saying nothing, and he got to a table and we figured out we were supposed to follow him. Then our waitress helped the people to our right and left who got there after us first. Then the younger host went over to a table where a gentleman was eating by himself and just took the extra chair at his table and moved it somewhere else. Didn't say anything, just took chair. Then a woman was seated a couple tables done from us and she was obviously meeting someone because there were two menus. The younger host came up and took the chair that her guest would have been seated, there were three other chairs at other tables he could have taken. Again he said nothing, just took the chair. Then the older host was wandering around carrying a candle and asked if we wanted it. Our waitress seemed to have multiple sections in the restaurant and we unfortunately were neglected most of the evening. My son and I ordered the same dish, Singapore Noodles, and when it arrived they looked completely different and he had almost doubled the food. The meal was tasty but it was a really odd experience. Oh also when my son used the restroom he said the grout was missing in the corner and you could see and hear what was going on on the other side. Also, ladies room had black mold under the rim of the sink. Have been going to House of Hunan for years and have not experienced...
Read moreIt honestly pains me to have to even give this place one star. While I have never eaten here I NEVER will. On Saturday I parked in an open lot behind this location. The lot had a 4 hour time limit. After the 3 hours that I was at the square I returned to my car only to find a big truck parked behind me. The spot next to me was open and I figured I could easily maneuver my car through this spot without having to have the truck owner move. As I was getting into my car 2 men came out of the restaurant one wearing a chef jacket and the other was the truck owner, presumably an employee also. The truck guy starts screaming at me asking why I would ever think it's okay to park where I was parked or try to leave the spot without getting him first. I explained my thought process to which I was told was "pretty stupid." The chef then came up to my passenger window and asked me where I was while I was gone. I told him I didn't feel like that was his business and he kept asking. I told him I was at cool beans and he replied "not for that long you weren't." I rolled up my window and the truck was moved all the while the owner of the truck was in the cab throwing his arms in the air and screaming some more. I'm not sure in what world it is okay to try to intimidate someone that wasn't doing anything wrong, let alone a young woman that's by herself. Harassment is never okay and was the last thing I expected on a Saturday afternoon in the Medina square. I will tell everyone I know not to ever go to this...
