5 Stars (Chain Restaurant Review)
The number one question I am asked in private messages is "Why are you such an opinionated (insert derogatory name)?" No, seriously, it is "Where can I get an awesome steak?" They are both easy answers, but in the name of professionalism, I shall only address the latter. When asked about charred bovine flesh the first thing I mention is my personal non-chain favorites; however, hands down one of the best steak houses is Texas Roadhouse. Yes, the chain.
In fact, their steak is better and far easier on the wallet than 90% of independent steak houses. Founded by a former KFC manager from Louisville, KY in a mall across the Ohio River in Clarksville, IN in 1993 they now have (as of August 2021) 627 national locations in every state sans Alaska, as well as 29 international locations in 10 countries. That said, a tidbit most people aren't aware of is that their steaks are hand-cut. Amazingly, it is still far less expensive than all non-chains at which I have dined. After having been seated and given some time to look over the menu, our waiter, Marc introduced himself. If the average waiter had an avatar, it would be Marc. 50% are worse than him and 50% are better. He was a good guy, he got a good tip as he deserved; no problems with him, just a personality drier than the Atacama Desert.
I asked Mr. Unexciting for one 32 oz. New York Strip -- rare, with extra seasoning. Yes, a 32 oz New York Strip rare. It is hard to cook a steak this large to any other doneness. The human operating the grill was on the ball as my steak was executed flawlessly and tasted superb. The marbling was beautiful with just the right amount of fat. I also found it to be incredibly tender and succulent. The mixed vegetables were steamed to perfection and served in a cute little acetabulum and the house salad with blue cheese, while I don't think the dressing was made in the back, was also tasty on the palate. There are no pictures of the salad and while you may notice there was another dish on the table. They are both meaningless as the focus here is on the steak.
The Big Boy says, "You can drive to Tampa and go to one of my top 5, or you can save time and money and just come here....

If you're in the mood for mouthwatering steaks and a fun, lively atmosphere, Texas Roadhouse on Eau Gallie Blvd is the place to be! 🥩🍻 From the moment you walk in, the energy of the place pulls you in with the sounds of country tunes, the aroma of fresh-baked bread, and the warm Southern hospitality. 🤠
Let’s talk about the food! The steaks are the absolute stars of the show here. Cooked to perfection, they’re juicy, tender, and seasoned just right, whether you like yours rare or well-done. 🥩🔥 The Ribeye is hands down my favorite, packed with flavor and melt-in-your-mouth goodness. But honestly, you can’t go wrong with any cut. Their hand-cut steaks are the real deal, and you can taste the quality in every bite! 😋
Not in the mood for steak? No problem! Their menu offers plenty of other great options, from their famous fall-off-the-bone ribs to their flavorful grilled chicken and seafood. 🍗🍤 And don’t even get me started on their sides—loaded mashed potatoes, fresh veggies, and their legendary buttery rolls with cinnamon butter? Perfection! 🥖🧈
The atmosphere is fun, lively, and laid-back, perfect for a casual night out with family or friends. Whether you're in a booth or at the bar, it's always a good time. The line dancing from the staff is an extra touch of entertainment that makes the experience unique. 💃🕺
Speaking of the staff, they’re always friendly, welcoming, and make sure you're well taken care of. 👏 Despite how busy it can get, they manage to keep the energy high and the service fast and attentive. Whether you're a regular or it’s your first visit, you’ll feel right at home.
And of course, the prices are more than reasonable for the quality and portion sizes you get. 👍 Between the excellent food, great service, and fun atmosphere, Texas Roadhouse on Eau Gallie Blvd is the perfect spot for a fantastic meal with a bit of country flair. 🌾🍽️
Highly recommend for anyone craving an unforgettable steakhouse experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Read moreJust to start, we are locals. We are not snowbirds or tourists and we've eaten at this Texas Roadhouse several times, even before it moved its old location on Eau Gallie to the new location on Eau Gallie. It has always been hit and miss on food and service. But tonight, the service was extremely horrible. I won't go into all the detail but to make a long story short, first of all, we had asked to sit in a booth in the bar area. We were first told there was not enough servers for the area. OK, fair enough, but we commented that there were people eating in there so the hostess reluctantly sat us there. As soon as we sat down (literally within 60 seconds) another couple walks in and sits down at the booth next to us. They didn't get escorted there by the hostess but walked in on their own and they got to stay (this is the third time we've seen this happen there at this Texas Roadhouse) and the bartender brought them menus and their silverware. Next thing we know, (literally within minutes) they are sitting people at several booths and there was not new wait staff that showed up, the same bartender was waiting on all of them. With that being said, our personal serviced sucked. The worst fk'n service we've ever had. All the booths around us were getting waited on except for us. They never gave us bread when we arrived. They said it was still in the oven, but yet as soon as the bread was available, all the other tables got bread. We had to flag down the bartender to get bread. When I needed extra sour cream for my baked potato, I had to stop one of the staff passing by to get it and it was the same when I wanted to reorder a drink. It will be a long time before we eat there...
