A very nice beach park with 3 entrances and amenities This is one of the many beach parks located along A1A. It happens to be located directly at the intersection of A1A and the East end of Eau Gallie Blvd. There is a light at this intersection so it is easy to get to, and depart from, this particular park. There is a parking lot with about 50 spaces for cars. There is a single building housing the restrooms right off the parking lot. To the south of the restrooms is a grassy area and a beach entrance. This is a dog-friendly park so this particular area is a good part for taking your furry friends both before and after their beach visit. To the north of the building is 2 more beach entrances. All are wooden walkways. The 2 on the north end are very pretty because the plants form a tunnel that you walk through to get to the beach. The beach here is very nice with a gentle slope about 60 feet to the water. Two of the walkways have stairs down to the beach and the other walkway is a ramp affair. They have held an Easter sunrise service from this location for several years and sometimes there is a food truck operating from the parking lot. Overall, it is a very nice place to go...
Read moreCanova Beach Park is one of the few beaches in Florida where you can bring your dog, and it’s a great option if you want to enjoy the ocean with your furry friend. The dog area is small but clean, with bags, trash bins, and rinse stations available. Everyone was friendly, and it was fun seeing other dogs enjoying the beach too.
For people, the beach is peaceful, not too crowded, and has picnic tables, bathrooms, showers, and easy access from the parking lot. The sand and water were clean, and we appreciated the relaxed atmosphere.
One thing to note: sometimes there are a few drunks hanging around the main entrance, which can feel uncomfortable, but there’s another entrance you can use that’s quieter and more laid-back.
The only other downside is that the dog beach section can feel a bit tight if it gets busy, and not everyone strictly follows the leash rules. If your dog needs more space or isn’t comfortable with other dogs approaching, it might be a little overwhelming at times.
Still, overall it’s a great local spot to enjoy the sun and surf with your pup. We’ll...
Read moreI had a corner room at the hotel right next to this park for two separate weekend stays. I so enjoyed watching all of the activity from the balcony! The absolute joy of the dogs that were at this park was wonderful to see! Yes, there are times that it's was a little crowded, but from what I could see, it was never too crowded. Beachgoers had room to set up for fun in the sun or water, so did thoses who were fishing, and so did the dogs. I saw dogs off their leashes while they were fetching or playing with another dog, but I didn't see any of these dogs bothering people or animals that didn't want to be bothered. My thought is that if an owner has their animal off-leash it's because they're well-trained. I think it's absolutely wonderful this dog park exists! These are the dogs that are living the best life and have owners that are investing in that happiness. I have never seen so many happy dogs at one time. It really was a wonderful sight and the best entertainment for both of my stays...
