One star is one half too much! The service at the Union location in Memphis, TN is horrendous, I mean horrible. The poor service starts at the door, the greeter NEVER greeted us. The greeter never even looked at us. We literally walked up to him and engaged him. By the way, this is the second time this has happened to me within a month or two. Our waiter, aith no name tag on, NEVER introduced himself. When asked what his name was, he addressed himself as Mr whomever. I told him that I wouldn't address him as such. Thus, preempted me to ask if he was the manager. He never properly took our order. I had to ask him to get our order. He took the appetizer order and walked off. I flagged him down again and told him we were ready to order. Upon returning to the table, he NEVER said anything, he just sat the items on the table and walked off. My being a lady 55 plus years, having been in customer service and administration, knew that more than poor service, this Mr whomever he was, was down right rude. Someone else brought our food out, I informed her of our experience, I even asked if the guy was prejudice. The lady apparently pulled his coattail, because he did say a few words upon returning to the table. She should've sent the manager to our table. My visit prior to this one is even juicier! While using the restroom, I come out og the stall to find a bewildered looking teenager standing in the floor in awe. A male server was cleaning the mirror and singing as if the situation was "normal". After coming all the way out of the stall, the girl proceeded into her stall. I adamantly ask the gentleman WHY was he in the ladies restroom while we were in there, he smirked and continue to sing and clean the window. I then say to him " you can't be in here with us, and you still cleaning the mirror, i told him to get out. The guy leaves out and I asked for the manager. The guy comes up to me and asks " are you serious, are you gonna tell on me?" I told him that I was dead serious, and that he should know better, and he should be held accountable. Upon talking to the manager, he butted in and lied as if he didn't know that anyone was in there. I informed the manager of his lie and let her know that a girl was standing in the middle of the floor looking confused when I walked out of the stall. The manager gave a half-hearted apology. Not only was that against protocol, it was an issue that should have been handled right on the spot. The young man should have been terminated for ignoring policy n procedures, for lying, and for interrupting the manager and myself after she told him several times to go to the back. Now, what bothers me the most is, I really like Applebee's, but service sucks. I suggest that you guys invest in a seminar or training class on simple everyday manners and "common courtesy", and they have the nerve to be expecting a tip. I never really comment or post but, the survey popped up on my phone. So, what better opportunity to let you guys and the public know just are rude and how careless your staff handles...
Read moreI was at Applebee's on Union tonight for nearly 2hrs we sat ourselves and waited for someone to greet us after 10 minutes we was greeted with the host saying it was a 45 minute wait should have left then we get seated waited 10 more minutes before our drinks order was taken and greeted our waitress came back to the table and said they didn't have the liquor for their special drinks for the month ok we picked something else order their stake shrimp broccoli and garlic potatoes special and the ribs and chicken broccoli and potatoes waited over 40 minutes on our phone playing video games and their rodents came out to tap dance on the table wall where we are sitting call for the waitress to tell her what's going on she stops and talks to a coworker she comes to the table she asked y'all seen the roach yes before she could get it out of her mouth she saw it for herself tell us she's fixing to get the manger the manager no concern she taking to go orders walking back and forth she finally comes to the table I then proceed to tell her roaches is crawling around she said one I said several she asked what did we order I told her she asked the waitress how long we been waiting she said over 30 minutes she likes why then goes to the kitchen and fix whatever they wanted us to have steak dry and supposed to be medium well the ribs supposed to have came with chicken breast they put shrimp the potatoes was cold and the broccoli was hard she brings the recipe to the table with a tip and a extra 18% gratuity we paid for our meal and left the waitress and manager was trying to avoid us the floor under our table was dirty they had bread crumbs and food everywhere melt bands for wigs and lottery tickets on side of the seats they acted as if we done something to them and we was the one unpleased with the whole experience and had to pay she looked at us as if we was dirty and was lying we will not be going back there and we normally come on the regular or get a Togo order never again we...
Read moreToday I decided to order dessert only. I placed my order online and selected the curbside pickup option. When I arrived I called the number on the curbside sign. No one answered. I called two more times before my mom decided to go in to get the order. Another customer had to do the same. What’s the point in having curbside delivery if you have to get out? I checked my order and noticed that my brownie was broken. I didn’t pay it much attention I was just happy that they gave me the correct dessert this time. When I got home I opened the container to find that I didn’t even have half a scoop of ice cream. The ice cream container was stained with what looked like buffalo sauce on the inner walls. I decided to take a closer look at my brownie and it didn’t look like a broken brownie. It looked as though someone ate or played around with both the brownie and the ice cream. I had to drive back up to the restaurant. When I went in a rep met me at the to-go door. I informed her of my issue and she replied that she fixed my brownie and that the brownie had broke while placing it in the container. I then asked what was the explanation for the pinch of ice cream in the dirty container? She looked at the ice and stated that the ice cream most likely melted. I had to explain to her that even if it had melted it doesn’t measure up to a full scoop. I was so lost for words due to her excuses. I never got an apology. Then one of the other waitress that overheard the conversation thought that it was hilarious. Now I’m really assuming that she knew the truth. My mom explained to me that when she went in the staff had been standing around chatting instead of working. At this point I’m done with Applebee’s. They can’t se to hire professionals. Don’t eat at Applebee’s go spend your hard earned money...
