I Dare You to Try This Place!!! I visited Eggxactly on March 20, 2024 to support African American Restaurant week. I had never heard of this place before I saw it on the news. My son was here visiting and we saw the news spot and I asked him did he want to go there for breakfast? A couple of days later we went. Oh My Goodness!! It was an awesome experience and awesome food and service. First, it is a small place, it was a little busy when we went but we did not have to wait to be seated. It is a little tighter than what I am used to when I visit a restaurant, but it is a small, intimate spot. Make sure you bring your money! It is really expensive, but it was so good. Normally I complain about spending this amount of money, but I tried not to as much. The guy (Jamal) was nice to us from the time we walked in until the time we left. I just wish he'd checked on us a little more often. Remember to bring what customers ask for and don't forget. I was not sure what to order but Jamal recommended fish and pancakes. I said fish and pancakes? Fish for breakfast? I couldn't see it. But I like to try new things, so I said ok, I'll try it. The pancakes were soooooo good! The fish was sooooo, sooooo good! They have some type of special sauce that they made to go on any of their meats. WOW! That was even really good! My son really enjoyed his chicken and waffles and we even had to get to-go boxes because we were full. I was a little disappointed with having to pay $5 for hashbrowns. I normally have to put pepper on my hashbrowns at IHOP and other restaurants, but I did not need anything. My son and I split the hashbrowns, couldn't afford two. I suggest they bring the price of the hashbrowns down to $3. I wanted to add eggs but too expensive and all the sides are sold separate. Other than that, it was Good Service, Good Food, Good 1st experience. Oh, and the food was fresh. Not old food sitting up hoping someone comes in and order it. Our food was cooked after we placed our order and that is what made the food good also. Thank you Eggxactly!! May your business continue to be Blessed, grow...
Read moreWe picked this place because it had such high reviews, but after eating there, I can't figure out WHY it has such high reviews. First of all, the restaurant is in a small, cramped house. When we walked in, the cashier greeted us, and she was very polite and friendly. She handed us some menus and made sure we got a table, and then told us to come back up to the front when we were ready to order. You order at the hostess stand and pay in advance. Our table was a small, two-person table that wobbled. The sides of the table had something sticky on them, and my hubby and I had planned on asking our server to wipe it off for us. Unfortunately, our server had zero interest in actually serving us, talking to us, or even looking at us. The first time she approached, she hurriedly set down our drinks, and tossed plastic cutlery, straws, salt and pepper packets, etc. on the table, and walked off before I had a chance to even say a word. I'd asked for a glass of water, which I did not receive, and I asked for creamer, which I did not receive. When we got our food, it was cold, and since our cutlery was plastic, we had trouble eating it. I couldn't cut my French toast with the fork I'd received, so I had to use my knife to cut it. Like I said, the table wobbled, so cutting my French toast sent the table a rocking like it was a rocking chair instead of a table. Everything was disposable, even our plates. We weren't offered refills, and no one checked in with us. I wish I hadn't paid a tip in advance, as I would not have left one. Terrible, terrible experience. Horrible service; the worst service I've ever received. The only saving grace was the person who greeted us and took our order. Needless to say, we'll...
Read moreThis place got 2 stars only because 2 people in our group thought the food was good. There were 9 of us out for a birthday brunch. We had to wait more than an hour to get seated but did so gladly. Once we got a table it was down hill from there. The waitress first took our drink orders. After about 15 minutes another waitress came to take our food orders, we hadn't gotten any drinks not even waters. Another 15-20 minutes and we were able to get a waitress attention to ask for water, then they took the drink orders again. About 30 minutes later 2 food orders were put on the table, still no drinks. So they took the drink orders again. Finally 3 more plates were delivered and the drinks then 1 more meal, then a to go order. Still missing 3 meals. And the to go order party had not received their dine-in food. 2 more meals and the first 2 had finished eating and the 1 who got the to go still had no food. Everyone is almost finished so the to go party told the waitress to take their order off because everyone else had finished eating and we had to leave for another planned/scheduled activity. At this point the owner/manager (?) Offered to comp the meal and make it to go. Not once during the whole time this sad dining experience was going on did anyone, owner/manager or wait staff offer any type of apology or recognition of how flustering this situation was. Then after paying these high ckecks, they're pricey, the owner/ manager offers a weak/lame halfa** happy birthday to the b-d girl. They new it was a birthday brunch, we were wearing birthday squad tees. The pic is the cold to go order sitting on the table 35 minutes when the eat in plate finally arrived. This place maybe good for a party of 2 but no more than...
