I so wish I could give you all a 0 in stars. My mother come to you all trusting you for care and what she gets in return is zero attention, lies, and lack of direction. I swear I think I'm the doctor because I ask for simple test and give the doctor and care free nurses the direction to take. She was seen in the ER for stomach pains and when I arrived she was about to be discharged. I asked was she aware of them discharging her and the response was "yes" but this could not be the case when she was under heavy pain medication and did not recognize me in the room. After speaking with the nurses I demanded to speak with the doctor who literally starred at her as if her body was going to tell him her diagnosis. I asked for them to run a certain test and to bring in the gastro doctor to examine my mother. She was examined by the nicest GI doctor who actually took her time with my mom and did what she went to school for. My mother was admitted and finally correctly diagnosed whereas before she was sent home and returned the next day on a prior visit with the same pains. Recently she has encountered eye pains and they stated it was an eye infection and sent her home with eye drops and no antibiotics. The eye drops made her eyes hurt more and the next day she was at dialysis when she had to stop because she was in extreme pain. This time which was the next day they gave a different diagnosis and sent her home with cream that's hurting her as well. Many of your staff members need to take a course on customer service, patience, and humility if given. I would not bring my dogs here with the lack of care, wrong diagnosis, lack of respect for patients. Are you waiting on people to die or simply use them as genie pigs for the various medical supplies you get. My mom is not a lab rat and I hope you would not give this treatment to your loved ones. Have a heart and if you don't love your job then get out and allow people who care to attend to the sick. This ER is the worst in America. Get it together before someone dies while you could care less. So our tax dollars are spent on what, lazy people who could care less about the sick. You all should really readjust your ER team who lacks in every area of what Methodist values are and what this hospital was built for. It's inhumane how people are treated. The food is another post all on it's own. From being cold when it arrives to down right unhealthy. Not even a dog with run to this even if they were homeless. I am writing to express my deep concerns about the care my mother has received at your facility. She was dropped off for what was considered an emergency at 11:00 am. It is now 7:50 pm, and in that time, only blood work has been drawn. We have not received any test results, no doctors have seen her, and no solutions have been provided.
I understand that Memphis faces a significant crime rate, which likely leads to a higher number of emergency cases. However, your website states, āMethodist South Hospital has served at the heart of the Whitehaven community for over 50 years, providing high-quality, innovative and compassionate care.ā As someone who has lived in this community for 40 years and has had experiences with this hospital for 30 years, I must say that this has not been reflected in the care my mother has received.
In comparison to other hospitals from Dallas to Atlanta, Methodist South Hospital ranks among the worst in my experience. The current situation is unacceptable, and it raises questions about whether the issue is a lack of staff, outdated equipment, or a general lack of technological advancement and strategic planning.
Additionally, the hospital facilities themselves are lacking. The bathroom, for example, does not have hot water, which, despite suggestions that cold water may kill germs faster, reflects poorly on the hospital's ability to provide basic amenities.
In a life and death situation, based on the current reputation and level of service at Methodist South Hospital, I would have serious reservations about choosing this hospital for care.
Furthermore, I am aware of a malpractice lawsuit against a doctor from this very hospital, which only adds to the concerns about the quality of care provided.
Having grown up in Whitehaven and attended Bishop Byrne middle and high school, I have never had a good experience with this hospital, nor have my friends. Now, my mother is experiencing the same substandard care, which is where I draw the line.
I will be sending a detailed personal review to Ms. Ocpivia Stafford, the President of Methodist South Hospital. As members of the community work diligently to restore Whitehaven, it is imperative that our hospital services improve significantly.

I.endured..So much so I.had.to.medicate my self due to the time , I had to wait ... I.got.my triage done .. three hrs later we went to the. back ..... about two hrs later ... Dr. Rosa Gomez , came in ... The first thing she said that my complaint was negative .... I explain to her why ..... She nonchalantly told me no., I was wrong that.. that wasn't the reason and went out the door ... After telling me she would be right back with her nurse ... She came back more aggressive a hr later ... When I tried to explain to her about how my body works .. she said she was a professional and basically I'm lying and did not know what I was talking about...Talking all over me . I told her that this had happened.here and the Dr realize I was right she talked over me and said no such thing ... She headed for the door... To later come backn for the final.decision . To tell me the only thing she will give me was one pill .... I said I need more thn one .. She said to me. you lucky you got that ..... This is aweful Dr.... I read her reviews another review where she had onlyn2.3 stars .., The young lady said she was very rude to her and did the exact same thing she did to me .... Talk over you and not listen ..... She did not give me the medication for the problem I had she ignore me from the time she walked in the room shook her head and didn't want to hear anything I had to say ..... One young lady on her reviews said she think al you want is drugs... On my take home report . She lied for the sake of insurance purpose she ran a I. V..... It never happenel....it's what I had ask her for but she refused to give it to me .,. I left there in horrible pain .. Today is Wednesday ,im in tremendous pain and worse pain all night last night .... The one small pil only last a couple of hours. She's gives less of a care about the patient .. Maybe some ...but not all...
