It has been a few weeks since I have eaten here. The experience left such a lasting impression that leaving a review was definitely on my ‘things to do’ list. I am told that I am difficult from family members, but I disagree. You should expect a certain level of service when you make the choice to dine out. Not looking for perfection, just food prepared according to instruction, and considerate service with a smile. It’s not hard.. Now let’s get into the experience! Upon entry, the place was pretty busy. All of the booths were taken, so I had to settle for a table. I walked out to tell my husband there weren’t any booths available. He was approaching the building as I was exiting. By the time we walked in and sat down at a table, the host asked if I still wanted a booth. We got up and he led us to our choice of two booths. I know for certain they were full when I first came in. That’s how fast they turned those tables.. That was definitely impressive coupled with him relocating us after we got seated of course. The server was fantastic. But I have to point out the fact that we were greeted throughout our entire visit by many different servers and team members seeing to our needs. This was team work on steroids. Another server even collected our check to be handed off to the server to avoid any unnecessary waiting. Then to top it off, the manager came to see if things were okay. The experience we had was a testament to the kind of leader that he is. I am still in awe at what I experienced. This service team experience is what I’d expect from some of really high end restaurants I’ve visited. Trust me when I say, these guys will run circles around them any day of the week..
Well done Huey’s! You all are indeed a cut above the...
Read moreIm not from Memphis and never heard of Hueys. I went to this location because it was close to Target. I had finished my shopping and I have a sick relative in the hospital who wanted lunch. I told her what was near me and she requested Hueys. She initially did prefer me to go to the one in midtown closer to the hospital but said this locations good was good as well. I decided i was going to get lunch as well, this would ve my first experience. So I drove here and placed my order on the take out side in person. A burger, side salad, potato skins, and rootbeer. The guy told me it would take 15min. Well 15mins came and went. It ended up being thirty mins. When he finally brought my order to the car he did not have my drink. So I asked him where is my drink. He said I'll get it and never came back after 5min. So I checked the food at the time and notice my skins were a little burnt but no biggie and the cheese on the salad was a joke. At this point, go inside and just ask for more cheese thinking I would see the other guy with my drink...nope. the other gentleman gives me two cups of cheese and I kinda stand and wait for that guy. Then I look at the one that's present and ask him where is my drink?! The guy said he was going to get it. He then tells me he went to the restroom. The lion on his face told me there was no communication between the two that I was missing a drink. He hurriedly got it for me though. They get a three because my salad was awesome and my family member was so happy to have that food to eat. And for the gentleman picking up the slack even though he was the one who told me my wait was only going to be 30min. Next time I come to town I will try thr...
Read moreI really wanted to like Huey's. Our server was nice... She seemed to be in a rush but we lacked for nothing... She was taking care of patrons and her area was clean (it wasn't like she was standing around enjoying free time). Actually, all employees seemed busy helping the business to run smoothly. The prices were fairly fair.
Now for my only "potential" problem at Huey's... While having some wings from Huey's which were some of the best wings I've ever had and I grew up on Frank and Teresa's Anchor Bar Wings (which are very good btw)... I began to feel nauseous and I was sick for the next 2 days. No symptoms prior... All my symptoms began about my 3rd or 4th Huey's wing-in... Despite my sudden illness... These wings were really tasty. The service was good and the prices were reasonable... I honestly hate to leave Huey's such a review. I mean, the truth is; I really don't have concrete evidence that allows me to say without a doubt, Huey's wings were the independent factor in making me sick... I can only state the facts of my experience.
Update I later realized I was suffering from dehydration during my visit to Huey's. I truly enjoyed the taste, how crispy and freshly prepared the wings i was served... The overall facts are... I really wasn't hydrating properly along w the consumption of a couple of adult beverages during my time in Memphis and Huey's. The truth is... I have come to believe my dining experience at Huey's had nothing to do with my illness... I will visit Huey's the next time l'm in town... Those...
