I visited the Union ave location this morning. I ordered a sausage egg and cheese croissant. I got to work and opened the package and it was just a sausage egg sandwich on ciabatta- no cheese, no croissant. I typically make my own breakfast at home but today was a cheat day- so of course, i want what i ordered. Decided to go back and told the lady at the drive thru maybe i accidentally got someone else's order and she told me to pull around. I was very polite as I understand mistakes happen, I just asked if I could get remade- the correct way. Briana was the lady at the window, and when she opened the window I handed the sandwich back and told her " I didn't touch it, I just opened it enough to see it wasn't the correct sandwich if you want it or want to give it to someone, and I even apologized ( I had no reason to but I feel bad returning food) she said "yea, it's the sandwich you wanted just on a ciabatta"
Again, that doesn't matter- it's not what I ordered. It's actually not what I ordered, It didn't have cheese on it. I waited another 5-7 minutes and a man opened the window and basically shoved the bag out and said here you go.
I got back to work, and wouldn't you know it was the incorrect sandwich yet again. I didn't have time to continue dealing with this. I called to speak with a manager, not to get anything in return, I just wanted to let him know what happened so he could maybe speak to his team, he didn't really seem to care. It was just a cold conversation. The food is not that great here, it's fast food i get it but the service this morning was awful. There is clearly a miscommunication between the kitchen and front end. The leadership appears non existent. Read moreI love good food, and I will frequently continue patroning a place with less than great service if the food is good enough. Some time ago I stopped going to the local Panera on Union (Memphis) because the service was absolutely terrible! I received incorrect or incomplete orders no less than a dozen consecutive times before I called it quits. That was over two years ago and I hadn't been back since until recently, when one of my daughters came home with Panera's new Chipotle Bacon Melt. It was AMAZING! I went back within the hour to get another one and it was AMAZING too! That was four days ago, and I have been back everyday since. Also everyday since, I have gotten incorrect (such as the wrong sandwich) or incomplete (lacking a sandwich altogether) orders on every visit. Today, novelly, the sandwhich was the correct type, but came out looking like I'd ordered a sliders version instead of the Whole version. It looked like they cut the ends off of one of their baguettes to make me two tiny sandwiches. I was livid. How inconsiderate/incompetent can one chain be? I am past tired of this treatment. I am NEVER going there again, and I am encouraging anyone I know not to frequent this location again as well. If I could have left negative stars on this review...
Read moreEdited 9/20/2021 This location has gotten a lot better. It's typically pretty busy when I go, but the service has been great. I think her name is Kennedy that works the drive thru during lunch time is exceptional! The wait time is a little long, but I don't mind since the food has been delicious, my order accurate, and the service great. I highly recommend the Baja Grain bowl. It is really good.
Previous I've loved Panera, this location in particular, for a very long time. It's the little annoyances as of late that have really caused me to drive farther to other locations. Things like giving me sweetened tea when I ask for unsweetened. Never asking for my rewards number and looking annoyed when I ask to put my number in. Not slicing the flatbread pizza before giving it to me. Giving me some plain salad when I asked for Green Goddess. Or just placing my order on the counter with no acknowledgement or name or anything. Some people may not be bothered by these things. However, I've been a frequent customer since the first day it opened and have experienced exceptional customer service. I also make sure to tip. I only eat at Panera if I have takeout for lunch, so I'd like to feel...
