The rumor is, the owner, is so rude and unwelcoming that he’s lost a previous prized location due to issues with everyone around him. He’s since relocated at a less trafficked area that almost certainly negatively affected the bottom line. As a fellow business owner, it’s sad when attitudes get in the way of one’s hard work, but that’s this story. I have been twice, both only after a detailed explanation of how it wouldn’t be a warm encounter and that they would go in and deal with it. For me, half of the experience is the EXPERIENCE. Anyway, for the cheesecake itself- it’s badass. It’s made with so much hate that it undergoes a chemical change and it makes it taste delightful. It’s not tart at all, so if that’s the type of cheesecake you like, go get it at Kroger. This cheesecake is soft and fluffy and rich all in one. You can taste the egg in the cheesecake which wasn’t my favorite, but hey not everyone loves tart cheesecake like me, so I don’t hold it against the cheesecake here. All in all, if you can stand a less than warm encounter, you’ll find a good cheesecake place.

I am rating purely on the cheesecake. We didn't try the chicken. New location, same great cheesecake. Had a really good conversation with the owner tonight. He has rules. See below for them. This is our favorite cheesecake, hands down. We were regulars at his old location. We moved two years ago and was shocked he had moved, but he was happy he was still open. Tonight, we broke our two year fast with Pineapple/Coconut and Red Velvet. So delicious. A true Memphis staple. Stay in line, Don't ask what their favorite is, Make your selection, Place your order, Wait. If you follow the rules, you'll never have any issues with the service. We have always had an enjoyable time.

Kevin has one of THE best chicken salad sandwiches I've ever had. It comes with chips and a side of fruit. I stopped to take a picture of it before it is completely devoured. I am SO grateful for his presence downtown. He is an incredible staple and asset.

I see where people talk about this place as unfriendly business owner but I can tell you that my wife and I used go often to the old location and talked with the owner several times. After a few years of COVID not realizing that it had bn so long we went by the old location and it was gone we went by the new location not realizing that it was the same owner till we walked in and I spoke with him again and told him I was glad to see it was him that owned the place he reminded me that it had bn years since he had moved and said just don’t let it be years before u come back. We laughed I had quit working in Memphis and COVID are the reasons we hadn’t bn but I told him it wouldn’t be. He went on to tell how he hadn’t changed locations and during COVID was a hard time for him which I can only imagine and felt for him especially since he has always made the best cheesecake in the tristate area. He is a really genuine guy and people don’t realize how hard it is to find good help but he hasn’t given up and hope he can keep busy enough to not have to. People should realize he has a business and usually really busy with no help so he is grinding nonstop but I can assure u if u take ur time and be patient and offer a kind word to him he will give a kind response. The best cheesecake in the tristate area and a hardworking nice owner & wish...

I've always loved going to The Cheesecake Corner downtown. I've always been aware of Kevin's attitude but never had any issues. Today, I took my team for a dessert treat for doing so well. I chose The Cheesecake Corner. The door was locked. We simply pulled the other door, and it was open. We went in and he cursed and said he didn't realize the door was unlocked because he was closed. We all awed in disappointment, but he said he would be open in 6 minutes and asked us to leave because he still got stuff to do. He also made a sarcastic remark about the door, but I ignored it, and we went back to the car and waited 3 minutes at this point for him to open the door. I knew I was getting the brownies in the display counter, but I saw the Pineapple Coconut in the cooler behind him and inquired if he's serving that. He said, "If you see it, it's available." Just rude for no reason!! This behavior continued so two of my teammates went outside to wait. I apologize to them for exposing them to such rude behavior. I felt so bad. I will never come back, recommend, or support him no matter how good his cakes are. He doesn't care about customer service or really just being...
