This is a nice & chic hotel in Memphis downtown. This was the first time we were staying at an ARRIVE property and all we have are good words to say. The price is moderately higher than the normal hotels but the rooms and decor of this hotel make it totally worth it. The lobby of the hotel is bright and beautiful and is furnished with multiple different seating options. It has many nooks and places to sit and have a coffee or cocktail and have a conversation. The location is just 10 minutes away from Beale Street and is just a block away from The Lorraine Motel Museum.
The check-in process was quick and the front staff was helpful and courteous. The lobby in front of the rooms is decorated with bright red carpet which makes the environment lively. The floor numbers written next to the lift were mentioned as song lyrics. We had multiple interactions with the house keeping staff and they were very courteous and helpful.
Our room in the hotel had a very aesthetic & modern design. The wall behind the bed had a beautiful and bright wallpaper and there was a Marshalls speaker on the bedside table. An accent chair and a study table were also provided in the room. The refrigerator was filled with drinks and they had a basket full of snacks that you could purchase. There was a dividing wall/sliding door in the bedroom which could be opened to reveal the bathroom sink counter which looked very cool.
This place had a valet service that would cost you $30 per night. You also have the option of self-park. The hotel had Hustle & Dough, which was a coffee shop/bakery open from 7am – 4pm. There was also a bar, Hustle, which opened from 4pm to late at night. Both served good food and drinks for breakfast and dinner. During our visit, we had coffee/breakfast from the bakery and salads from the bar and the food here was tasty and flavorful.
The checkout process was fairly easy and they also allowed us a late checkout. Upon returning home, we were sent a feedback form. We were very satisfied with our stay. The ARRIVE chain would definitely be our choice of hotel in the future....
Read moreGreat hotel, and great service until we checked out. We used the valet service provided by the hotel, and because of the hotel’s convenient location, we never used our car during the stay. However, when we were leaving and putting our bags into our car, a trolley came by the hotel, and a taxi was blocking the tracks. The trolley began blowing the horn, and it caused a commotion. The taxi turned towards our car, so we hurried to get out of the way, and did not inspect our car for damage. We drove two blocks to the Arcade Diner, and when we got out, saw the damage to the car. We immediately contacted the hotel, requested security camera footage, and returned to the hotel after we ate. Was told by Bailey at the front desk “the angle was bad” on the security footage. The next day, I called Bailey back, and requested she review the moment before we arrived; if we arrived with the damage, we will move on. No return call. Waited a few days, no return call. Called GM Robert Cuzzone, and he said security footage would only be released with a subpoena. I understand that the hotel cannot turn over the footage without a subpoena. I do not understand why the hotel can’t review the footage, and possibly clear this matter up.
The hotel contracts with a company called Laz Parking. We filed a claim with them, and they said since we left the hotel, they couldn’t be responsible. If the hotel could simply show our car arrived with damage (the valet did not note any damage upon arrival), we could easily settle this matter. Now, we are faced with eating the cost of repair ($1,357.45) or hiring an attorney to file a subpoena.
Disappointed with the hotel’s response from the beginning of this event. We had no expectation of the hotel paying for the damage to our car, but their lack of empathy sullied an otherwise outstanding stay at an outstanding property.
Tip: We experienced a problem with valet parking. Be sure to inspect your car on the way in, and...
Read morePros:|About 18 minutes by Uber from the airport. Check-in was painless and the elevator works fine and fast. Room was spacious and comfortable. Anything I needed I just texted the front desk and they took care of it: more clothes hangars, drinking glasses, etc. |Location is “good”, about a 10 minute walk to Beale Street. Arrive Memphis is also almost right across the street from the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel, where ML King’s tragedy occurred, and one block from The Blues Hall of Fame. It’s a short walk to some nice restaurants and BBQ joints. ||Cons:|Lousy amenities; no ice machine or ice bucket, the only bottled water was for sale in the minibar at $5 per bottle. NOTHING is complimentary. |The room has a finished (smooth) concrete floor, and around the bed there’s an area rug. I concur with another review I read here; they really, really, REALLY need to wash the concrete floor. If you walk on it in bare feet, it’s like walking outdoors on the sidewalk, your feet are filthy. I can’t believe they tolerate that. We saw the people who clean and make up the rooms and they definitely don’t have mops with them. |Check-out: Our flight left at 6AM so we needed to check out around 4AM. We were told there was always someone at the Front Desk. Well, that’s not true. We waited awhile and even picked up a walkie-talkie that was at the desk to try to find someone. I actually got a security guy on the walkie who said he couldn’t find anyone at the front desk either. I called 25 minutes later from the airport and there was still no answer at the Front Desk. ||My impression is that this is an attractive property that needs some sharper customer focus. |Based on my experience, Arrive Memphis doesn’t give me a good...
