Update 9/5/24 Displeased with Castañeda's!
My wife and I decided to pick something up on our way home from her appointment with her eye surgeon. We are usually satisfied with Castañeda's and it's not too far out of the way. We used the drive thru because neither of us are very mobile ourselves. There were three cars in front of us, however, the line moved at a decent speed.
Our orders were made to eat a late lunch and have more for dinner later.
My wife ordered: #12 Combo Chile Rilleños ✅ 2 Cheese Enchiladas 🚫
I ordered: #9 Combo Chicken Tacos ✅ Carne Asada Burrito, no Guacamole ✅
🚫 DID NOT RECEIVE!

Most restaurants are cutting back on as much as possible to save money, etc. This has included bags. More is being stuffed into single bags. WE have a very large bag made with thick canvas and extra internal and external pockets that we use when we pick up food (among other things). It ensures the food doesn't scatter if the restaurant bag(s) start to disintegrate. It is easier to carry.
With our process, the food is passed out the drive thru Window, and we place it in the bag. WE TRUST THE RESTAURANT(S) TO BE HONEST! We don't sit there and pull items out of their bag to confirm their honesty. It would likely get messy, and result in high frustration levels of fellow customers behind us. In this instance we suffered because of it.
For Castañeda's: it probably matters little to you (or most others), however, I have long had a policy in which I never do business, or interact, with a business or person that has once been dishonest with me. I have yet to encounter a business, or person, that doesn't have at least one competitor to which my my attention may focus.
Update: late morning drive thru for Machaca Plate and Carne Asada Buritto. Fast service and tasty food. 😋
Good Drive Thru Fast Food Experience. Ordered two plate meals which were very tasty. However, after giving a 20% tip I was expecting more than seven of their small salsa containers when I asked for 'a lot' of salsa. It really shouldn't be based on tip, but it does reflect on the service provided. In the future I will withhold the tip until the food is received and then determine the proper amount. Or next tip will be based on last service experience.
Recommendation to Castañeda's Mexican Food: be generous with the salsa when asked OR charge for extra salsa - I would have been willing to pay a little extra for an additional six...

I wouldn’t recommend coming here in the morning because the girls in the morning that work the customer service are vindictive and watch out they will purposely wet your cardboard cup holder So the drinks spilled all over you in your car. This is exactly what they did to me. I feel like they are prejudice against Mexican Americans because they are from Mexico and feel less than us who were born here. I went in to let them know what happened and they just looked at me with a blank face didn’t even regard to say sorry. Manager really needs to have a talk with these two ladies the one that works in inside, particularly always has a frown, she’s unpleasant. I also wouldn’t recommend coming here in the morning because the girls that work in the morning, their English is poor and they constantly asking you to repeat your order. l've been coming here for quite some time and it seem like the customer service keeps getting worse and worse. The girls are rude, unfriendly, and look miserable working projecting their bad energy off to the customer. Whatever issues they have personally should be kept to themselves and greet the customers with a professional attitude. The food is always great. cooks are doing a great job b. It's just the two girls customer service are horrible. I hope management fixes this issue.. thank you. I do wanna mention that the girls that work the evening shift are also great. Read moreThis restaurant is down the street from my house and I used to go there all the time. Recently a few months ago I visited the restaurant again and ordered a popular item that I had frequently ordered in the past. For example, I ordered beef taquitos that comes with guacamole and cheese on top. They were harder than normal and as I was eating my tooth on the left side profile broke off. This is so embarrassing because I am a financial advisor with my own business which means as an entrepreneur/independent contractor I have no dental benefits so it hasn't been fixed yet. I contacted the restaurant and spoke to Monica the supervisor and she texted and called me a few times. She gave me instructions on steps to take to get my dental records and proof of resent visit for this particular situation. I followed all the steps and sent them all info requested just to never hear from the manager again. I called several times but every single time my call was ignored. I think I am blocked so I stopped contacting them by phone. I tried emailing and still nothing. I am not a fan of suing and would rather not go through the stress of court but something definitely needs to be done. If a company can take your money they can help pay for dental work. That is why insurance companies exist. Another company deciding to look out for themselves and neglect the customer but where would these companies be without our business. This will not end well for them I guarantee it!!! I have been more than patient but I am not stupid. Thanks for listening, at least...
