My husband and I have now gone to Tacos and Tequila for a 3rd time in a short period of time. This restaurant is fairly new, and we don’t typically go to new restaurants that many times because we are very particular and we want the kinks to be worked out. We have to say the restaurant Tacos and Tequila doesn’t have any kinks when it comes to food and service. We had a different server this past time and he was also excellent. My husband and I also like the atmosphere at Tacos and Tequila it’s a beautiful modern looking restaurant. We love the fact that it’s a sit-down restaurant, this makes it very enjoyable and more especially since we have had good service every time. The food is absolutely delicious.
I am updating my review, this is the only way I can do It since Google only allows one review per month for the same restaurant. Anyway, my husband and I just dined at Tacos and Tequila. We requested Charlene as our server. We had her the first time we dined there and she is a great waitress. My husband had the Carne Asada Burrito which he enjoyed. I had the Shrimp Diablo, which came with rice and beans and at least 3 tortillas. Most restaurants give you one , maybe two tortillas. The Shrimp Diablo was the best Shrimp Dish I have had in years. The sauce was so good, that even my husband was dipping chips in the sauce. The beans and rice were also really good. Now, that I have had this this shrimp dish, and my husband tried it also, I think we are going to be coming to Tacos and Tequila more often. 5 stars again all the way!
Tacos and Tequila is a very pretty restaurant aesthetically. I’m not sure how they got their name. Anyway, my husband and I went there this afternoon. The food was absolutely amazing. We also had good service, I think our waitress was Charlene. She has a great attitude. The only thing is they need to get their air conditioning fixed. They are aware of this issue and it seems like they are doing the best that they can to get it fixed.I’m sure my husband and I will be coming back to Tacos and Tequila. We don’t drink, but we wanted to check out the food and the atmosphere. What an enjoyable time we had. Really good food. My husband and I are both very particular about what we like to eat and where we like to dine. The staff and whomever owns the restaurant are really trying. Please give them a chance because this is a new restaurant. I think this restaurant can be a great addition to Menifee. We definitely need another sit-down restaurant that’s not a chain....
Read moreIf you want to get burned and taken care of by a waitstaff that doesn’t care at all this is the place to go! Avoid this place like the plague, never eat here! My wife, my mother and I went to dinner and we had been there ages ago and wanted to check it out again. The inside is great environmentally, really sets the scene. We ordered a margarita flight and a drink and placed our order, and our server was great… until Victoria, the gal with the bow, delivered our food and poured some of the liquid from my enchiladas on my sweatshirt and my hand. I gasped loudly shouting it burns, while Victoria showed no emotion and placed my food on the table. Never even asked if was okay, showed no concern in fact she even seemed annoyed at the whole thing. I begged for some ice quick as my right wrist was on fire from the burning hot liquid, and she slowly walked away. A whole minute later she made her way back and brought some ice cubes in a napkin and walked away like it was nothing. We asked for a manager, and we met Gustavo. I explained what happened while still wrapping my hand in ice. He said wow that’s awful. He proceeded to tell me he can give me a discount, no I hope you are okay or anything. I explained she had burned my hand and didn’t even care or concern. Then he realized the situation and said he’d comp my food only and finally after explaining how she burned my hand and it was in pain he finally goes oh do you need medical attention? I explained with ice I should be okay but I will him know and he goes well okay then, want me to remake your food cause it could be cold. He barely made eye contact and didn’t look to be paying attention. It’s Just amazing how little he cares as much as Victoria about my well being when she caused my burn. He ended up remaking my food and gave me a 40 dollar discount, and when he brought me my food he had the gall to say, “I can only imagine how that must have hurt”. Do not eat here ever, they are heartless and do not care if they physically injure you in anyway. And if they do they might even ask eventually if you need help and give you a discount on your meal. Just shocking. This place deserved to be sued...
Read moreThe service from the two youngest ladies was great. Super friendly and checked on us often. They were great!
Chips and salsa were good.
Everything else was not for me. I ordered a plate of tacos. Asada, carnitas and Adobo. The menu makes it a point to say these are Michoacan style carnitas. This is a big deal as Michoacan is top tier when it comes to carnitas. I figured I'd keep my order simple.
1 margarita. It was $14 for the drink and 14-15 for the plate of tacos. Tacos had no rice and beans. Which is not an issue at all. Just a point of making sure if your looking for more affordable dine out experience this place isn't it. Anyway, back to the tacos. I did everything I could to make the Asada work. Added lime, salsa, guacamole. It was over cooked and not seasoned. Moved on to the adobo same issue dry as could be. It absolutely tasted like reheated/refried meat. Left that on my plate and just tried a little pinch of the carnitas which by just touching them and then tasting them they were dried out. A little bit of the flavor peeked through which had they not been overcooked would have worked very well.
I ended up not eating my meal. Didn't ask for anything at all. When the plates were picked up the young lady asked me about the food and I was honest. She did ask if I wanted anything else or wanted the meal remade. I said no, but was thankful she asked. There was a gentleman that walked around the tables and added smoke to the drinks. That was totally random and really didn't add anything to the experience. I'd say that's something that needs to be not continued. I'm not particularly fond of anyone messing with my drink especially after spending so much on it. I didn't finish that either after that little smoke trick.
Overall, I can understand why people enjoy it. This restaurant is absolutely catering to the demographic in the area. The food just was not for me. The host and server were fantastic. The margarita was okay. Not worth the same price as a meal. The food was not for me. So I won't...
