Urbane Cafe — Restaurant in Menifee

I hate to even do this because I'm a regular customer here and have never had a problem until today. I have my usual food items I get from here and one of those items is the baja bowl no corn bean salsa and instead substitute sweet potatoes. I have been ordering this on and off for at least a year. I have NEVER had a problem. The manager (bald white male) has never told me anything either. He is very calm, kind, and helpful. No complaints about him. I went in to get my food and some female employee stops me and says I can't get the sweet potatoes because it's an additional charge. Since when?! I had no idea. She then tells me it's a 2 dollar charge. I'm not asking for extra food for free. I'm asking you to remove one ingredient and substitute it for a different ingredient. I'm not robbing you. I tell her I have never heard of this charge before and she quickly gets defensive and says "I don't know. I usually work at the Murrieta one". What exactly does that mean? I really hope this place is not under new management. It has a great rating for a reason. Looks like I'll be avoiding this place until they figure out what their policy is and what they're...

First timer! The food was good, I did a pick up. Just something that bothered me with the service is, once I entered the restaurant, the employee taking out the trash yells out “nose goes!” As in who would take care of the customer, for me I took it a little off, I was not greeted, but the employees were seemingly making a joke on who to see that would help me. I smile a little bit because I know how “nose goes works” and the store was about to close, so I totally understand the whole trying to get closing things done on time. (For I as well work in fast food as an Area Manager); however, what made me want to write this review is when the employee saw me pick my food up and I was reading the receipt to double check it was for me, and she made a comment about me to the other employee, while I was in the store on how I took the food then proceeded to check the name and order as if I wasn’t there to hear her. I personally just feel, I love that the two young ladies were having fun and getting things done, just the comment made and the nose goes. As I would like to have been treated as any customer that would come in during the midday...

We're so glad that we finally tried this place. I personally thought it was going to have that "healthy" taste, but I was wrong. I completely judged the book by its cover and I shouldn't have. Coming from someone who is trying to eat healthier without feeling like I've "sacrificed flavor," this place hits the spot! I ordered the salmon bowl and everything in the bowl was delicious! My friend ordered the Baja bowl and liked it also. I particularly liked the bread. It was soft and fresh.

The restaurant was very clean and the staff was friendly. We came during lunch time during the weekday and it was not busy at all.

The restaurant is in an outdoor plaza where Sprouts and Olive Garden are located. When you enter through the entrance from Newport Rd., it's to the left of Olive Garden. There are lots of parking and the place is wheelchair friendly. There's outdoor seating as well.
