My family and I have visited here a couple of times and tonight, for Valentine's Day, we encountered, unfortunately, a different experience. After arriving we ordered dinner and drinks - my husband ordered a glass of red wine and I ordered a glass of white. To the waiters dismay, he spilled ALL of the red wine on my husband; his face, his clothes, his seat, everything was stained in red, the people sitting at the table next to us got some spill too. There's no doubt this was an accident, but the response to the accident is what was extremely disappointing. The "manager" was standing behind, witnessed the whole thing, I guess he was busy, and didn't attempt to come over to try and rectify the situation. The waiter who spilled the wine, stood ajar just watching my husband clean himself as best as he could. My husband wiped himself, the table, the chair and the waiter just stood there watching. After my husband went to the restroom to "clean" himself we debated leaving, but our food arrived so we stayed. In the middle of our meal, the "manager" finally came....he offered to pay for the glass of wine. The apology was not "I'm sorry for what happened, you are completely soaked" it was "I won't charge you for the glass of wine". A very appalling and inappropriate response in my opinion, given the situation and again, the fact that we were out for a special dinner. The manager comped our drinks at the end, we paid our bill and left, but left feeling very disappointed in the service and their inability to rectify an unfortunate situation that they caused, whether intentional or not, but still the onus was on them. Terrible,...
Read moreBurma Love in Menlo Park is a hidden gem that completely exceeded my expectations! Just a short walk from the Park James Hotel, this spot combines beautiful ambiance, high-end cocktails, and next-level flavors.
✨ What we ordered: • Tea Leaf Salad (SO fresh, vibrant, perfectly balanced with crunch + acidity) • Garlic Noodles • Broccoli & Mushroom • Bok Choy • Fiery Chicken Breast (tons of flavor, not heavy at all) No rice or prawns—and didn’t miss them one bit!
Each dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor without being salty or greasy. You can tell the chefs know how to layer texture, color, and taste in every bite.
🍸 The bar is outstanding! They had Monkey 47 gin—a rare find—and when I ordered a Last Word, they added TWO maraschino cherries just because. It’s the little things like that that make the experience feel special.
⭐️ Service = Michelin level Jimmy, our server, was fantastic—attentive, warm, incredibly knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. He made the whole experience feel luxurious without being stuffy.
🍰 Don’t skip dessert! We ended the night with the Yangon Spiced Toffee Cake—sticky, rich, warm, with cinnamon peanut crumble, Indonesian vanilla ice cream, and fresh berries. One of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time.
Next time I’m definitely getting the coconut rice and curry—saw it at another table and it looked amazing!
✅ Great for date night, girls’ night, solo bar seating, or if you’re just visiting the area. Stylish vibe, thoughtful service, and unforgettable food.

Read moreI was very happy to have discovered Burma Love on Yelp. I needed to find a place for a group that was having an event in Menlo Park and this jumped out as a new restaurant with a cuisine that is not your typical fare. And its reviews for its other locations were quite good.
When you walk into Burma Love you immediately notice how well-decorated it is. Our table was already set up for us which was a nice change from some restaurants who treat reservations more like waiting lists. The table was very a nice long wooden table and the chairs were quite comfortable. Even the drinking glasses got compliments from the group. 👏
One thing that is interesting about Burmese food is that since most people aren't familiar with Burmese cuisine including me we end up comparing it to what we expect from the cuisines we know. This led to some disappointment from people in the party when expectations weren't met.
The party was mixed between giving this a restaurant a three or four star reviews. The three star reviews were because either they thought the taste was nothing special, the prices were a bit too high or the portions were too small. Some people did not even like how the plates were small.
I personally enjoyed the milk tea and roti appetizer, thought the tea leaf salad was bit underwhelming, found the eggplant side to be a bit too salty and too close to Panda Express 🐼, but really liked the cauliflower and trumpet mushroom side 🍄. I thought the presentation and service and ambience were excellent which is why I am giving this...
