This sushi restaurant is an absolute gem, delivering a dining experience that exceeds expectations on every level. From the moment you sit down, it’s clear that quality and attention to detail are top priorities. The fish is simply outstanding — incredibly fresh, buttery, and so tender that it practically melts in your mouth. Each piece of nigiri and sashimi is crafted with precision, highlighting the natural flavors of the fish in the most elegant way possible. It’s the kind of freshness that you can taste with every bite, leaving you craving more.

The menu offers an impressive variety of options, catering to both traditionalists and those looking for something more adventurous. Classic nigiri and sashimi are prepared with finesse, while the specialty rolls showcase creative combinations of flavors and textures. No matter what you order, you’re met with bold, fresh flavors that highlight the chef’s mastery of their craft. From melt-in-your-mouth toro to delicate white fish and sweet, tender shrimp, each bite is memorable.

The service is equally remarkable. The staff is friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. They’re quick to offer thoughtful recommendations and ensure that every aspect of the meal is seamless. Whether you have questions about a specific fish or want guidance on pairing dishes, the staff goes above and beyond to enhance the dining experience. Their attentiveness makes you feel genuinely cared for, adding to the warm, inviting atmosphere of the restaurant.

Between the impeccable fish quality, diverse menu options, and attentive service, this sushi restaurant sets itself apart as a must-visit destination. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again, knowing that each experience will be just as unforgettable as the last. Whether you’re a seasoned sushi enthusiast or a newcomer to high-quality sushi, this spot delivers an exceptional...

A true authentic Japanese restaurant. I've tried many Japanese food restaurants, some with Hibachi herein the Bay Area, and this is my #1. 5 stars because the Mix tempura was crisp but soft and light golden color due to the cleaness of the oil used to fry it. The Calamari Yum Yum Fries actually tasted fresh, were not hard to chew, and eating one had me going back for another. The Miso Soup was rich in flavor, unlike other places where it is watered down. The Teriaky Chicken was cooked to the point that the chicken meat was juicy and not dry. Now, the roll I ordered here is the Lion King Roll, and here, each roll was easy to grab unlike other places they cook the roll and it all sticks together creating a mess when trying to each it. The service from all the staff is polite, attentive, and friendly. The place inside is nicely decorated and tranquil, and with the right people gatherings can be enjoyable. Give this hidden gem a try. You won't regret it!

This was my 9th visit at this place, and I finally did a rating based on...

Since "Hirotaka" took over the Iconic "Naomi Sushi", a lot of us Menlo/Alto residents think these were hard shoes to fill. As die hard patrons of local restos and lovers of sushi we wanted nothing more but to give these guys a chance. The other night, my beloved partner and I gave it a try. Weekday around 6:30p. No wait to be seated. Sat at the Sushi bar as usual. Right off the bat we had a young, ambitious man take our order and get us situated. We started with a cold sake and a hot tea. The Unagi/avacado roll was okay. Seaweed salad, miso soup and side salad were so so. We always sample the Uni. (Sea Urchin) IYKYK! If the Uni tastes like the ocean and melts in your mouth, then it's worth the money you spend. This Urchin was okay. 3/5 The Tuna Belly Nigri was by far the largest piece of belly we had ever experienced. Tendons included. 3/5 I ordered Tempura combo and Chicken Karaage plate. 3/5 The business is new at this point but the ambition is present. I see potential. Let's see how Hirotaka develops in the...
