Read moreA true authentic Japanese restaurant. I've tried many Japanese food restaurants, some with Hibachi herein the Bay Area, and this is my #1. 5 stars because the Mix tempura was crisp but soft and light golden color due to the cleaness of the oil used to fry it. The Calamari Yum Yum Fries actually tasted fresh, were not hard to chew, and eating one had me going back for another. The Miso Soup was rich in flavor, unlike other places where it is watered down. The Teriaky Chicken was cooked to the point that the chicken meat was juicy and not dry. Now, the roll I ordered here is the Lion King Roll, and here, each roll was easy to grab unlike other places they cook the roll and it all sticks together creating a mess when trying to each it. The service from all the staff is polite, attentive, and friendly. The place inside is nicely decorated and tranquil, and with the right people gatherings can be enjoyable. Give this hidden gem a try. You won't regret it!
This was my 9th visit at this place, and I finally did a rating based on...

As die hard patrons of local restos and lovers of sushi we wanted nothing more but to give these guys a chance. The other night, my beloved partner and I gave it a try. Weekday around 6:30p. No wait to be seated. Sat at the Sushi bar as usual. Right off the bat we had a young, ambitious man take our order and get us situated. We started with a cold sake and a hot tea. The Unagi/avacado roll was okay. Seaweed salad, miso soup and side salad were so so. We always sample the Uni. (Sea Urchin) IYKYK! If the Uni tastes like the ocean and melts in your mouth, then it's worth the money you spend. This Urchin was okay. 3/5 The Tuna Belly Nigri was by far the largest piece of belly we had ever experienced. Tendons included. 3/5 I ordered Tempura combo and Chicken Karaage plate. 3/5 The business is new at this point but the ambition is present. I see potential. Let's see how Hirotaka develops in the...
