Incredible! Amazing and fun atmosphere with great decorations and pretty food. Staff was accommodating and friendly.
The restaurant uses a digital QR menu but they will give you a physical one if you ask. Along with being visually attractive, the food is tasty and will make you full.
I would mostly recommend this to tourists, one time visitors, or for special occasions, however, since the food is very expensive and focuses mainly on looks/aesthetics.

Leilani P.Elite 2022 Seal Beach, CA 3064122 11/17/2022 4 photos i will say the food is pretty good, and they give good portions but some of the menu items are definitely overpriced. $12 for a matcha & $9 for "fresh squeezed OJ" is a bit much. the service was just okay, they were giving us a hard time and hella attitude about reservations - we had a tea reservation and a brunch reservation & when we called to cancel the tea reservation (days before) they cancelled both and blamed us for the issue. this place is really small compared to the location on merrill street. *fried chicken benedict *bibimbap *sakura latte *brown sugar matcha latte *coconut latte
Richmond's F. Rodeo, CA 02 11/16/2022 The atmosphere and the "look" of the place is nice. When I tell you the service is HORRIBLE and DISGUSTING.
I called to make a reservation and I was told that there was no availability for a reservation. I asked my friend that is the same nationality as the owners to call and try to make a reservation to see if he got the same response.
When his call was answered and he started to speak in their language they immediately booked him a reservation for the same day and time. Not knowing that the reservation was for me. That was the first issue.
You are allotted an hour to eat your food. They time you to a TEE for that hour. They will pick up your plate of food when you are not done eating, they will wipe the table off with you sitting at it (not caring if they are wiping food or drinks in your lap) the staff literally stands over your shoulder watching you eat.
What I noticed is that it is only with African American's. The restaurant was FULL but all the focus was on US. Our hour was the ONLY hour that mattered.
The encounter with the manager/owner was disgusting. She told us out hour was up and that it was time for us to go. When we were able to leave (due to packing up our food) we were standing outside on the corner and the owner came out and she pushed right through our group almost knocking my 82 year old grandmother down.
I was in shock at the behavior I witnessed and I would NEVER go back or recommend this place. She needs to be shut down because she is a racist. How? In San Francisco.

Read moreHad high hopes for this brunch spot given previous reviews and their creative menu. The overall atmosphere was nice with a large wrap-around porch with ample outdoor seating. There are cute faux wisteria flowers lining the outdoor rafters and a wall of faux flowers at the front entryway. Inside was well decorated and airy. Our server was friendly. My complaints lie with a fairly limited offering of vegetarian options. Not uncommon but there were some dishes that easily could have been made without the meat being added at the last minute (at least upon request). For example, they had a bibimbap option that included clay pot rice, a fried egg, assorted veggies, and a large piece of fried chicken added at the end. I asked if I could have that without the fried chicken and the use the up charge option of an additional fried egg to compensate. Didn’t ask for any price reduction. I was told they could bring the fried chicken on the side but not exclude it from the order…. I don’t eat meat, why would I want it on the side? Defeats the purpose. Ended up ordering the portobello Benedict but on one menu it stated that it came with sauce Hollandaise, apparently on their scan-code online menu for the day it came with pineapple salsa and no sauce. More consistency in their online and paper menus would have been helpful. The portobello Benedict was heavy. It included large slabs of seasoned tofu, the expected poached eggs, and was mixed with heavy umami flavors like the portobello and sundried tomatoes more inline with an evening pizza then a breakfast/lunch. Would have been better with fresh tomatoes, no tofu (or at least thinly sliced), and either a light sauce Hollandaise or perhaps a little avocado. Not well balanced 😔 My husband ordered the farmhouse omelette which was pretty good. We had a couple of errors in our order that took sometime to remedy including a small error that we just literally brushed off of the food so we could continue eating. I will add that their blueberry scone was light and delicious. Also the ricotta pancakes were the perfect balance of crisp fried outside and soft fluffy inside. The toppings offered complimented the pancakes very well and featured items like fresh fruit and real maple syrup. Was also glad to see a variety of espresso beverages for those that do not want to imbibe. Overall I won’t be rushing back unless reduce the heft of their offerings and make it a little more vegetarian friendly. Also wouldn’t steer a friend away from trying it. I feel like this place has good potential with a little more attention to...
Read moreI wanted to be excited about this restaurant but unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. My friends and I had a great time at the Palo Alto location! So we wanted to try the Menlo Park location but to our surprise, it is a very different experience.
Don't get me wrong. Our server was nice enough and the food was okay + I enjoyed my drink, but the environment itself was pretty uncomfortable. First of all, to our surprise, this restaurant is RIGHT next to the Caltrain. Literally across the street from the active Caltrain. So every 10 or so minutes the huge blaring train horn + whistles would be sounding off. Not once, not twice, but at least 3 times before my ears finally got acclimated to the very loud sounds. It scared us the first couple of times! lol. SHEESH. I'm wondering why no one ever mentions this on Yelp. I would've LOVED to know this location info instead of being unpleasantly surprised. lol.
Also, there was NO PARKING when we got there except a lot that turned out to be "Caltrain parking only" I'm wondering why such a popular restaurant doesn't have its parking lot. The very limited street spaces were all taken. There doesn't seem to not be enough parking spaces for the customers who choose to go to the restaurants here.
To add to this our disappointment the restaurant itself is also quite underwhelming. SIGH Where are the beautiful decorations that Son and Garden are famous for? This location is very plain outside. It was SUPER CROWDED outside + inside. They had two large lines in front, we luckily did not have to wait very long because I made a reservation online. So wait time with reservation is quick...
