De Marinis Pizzeria — Restaurant in Menomonee Falls

My husband and kids and I didn’t have the best service experience at all. I was saddened to have to say this. I love supporting my local community but what happened was absolutely unacceptable and we won’t be back. My husband went there and sat at the bar waiting for us. We met him and we were then moved to a table because clearly we didn’t want our 17 year old and 13 year old eating there. We waited a long time for our order. When we finally got it, we seen our waitress one time. She forgot numerous items in our order and after about 30 more minutes, we had to hunt her down for our remaining food order and a drink refill. Now, you’d think with it being virtually EMPTY this wouldn’t have occurred. This leads me to my next point. It then took an additional 25 minutes to get our check (we once again hunted down a different waitress since ours was invisible). We paid our bill and left a nice tip just because that’s who we are. My husband forgot his phone at our table so we drove back and when he came out he was being CHASED by some white woman (which we found out doesn't even work there) accusing my husband of not paying our tab. I was in complete and utter shock and never seen my husband look so hurt. I immediately stormed inside to see what the hell was going on. I was approached by 2 women. I calmly HANDED THEM THE PAID RECEIPT! They looked clueless. I said where are these accusations coming from. Apparently, while my husband was waiting for us, he ordered a beer that wasn’t transferred to our DINNER tab. NO FAULT OF OUR OWN AS SHE WAS THE SAME PERSON WHO SAT US FROM THE BAR! They literally chased my husband to the door over a beer that they forgot to add to our tab AFTER horrible service, paid bills and we left. This patron decided to apologize and felt like a (INSERT) but for this to have even occurred was crazy. I can’t help to think, the issue here was my husbands race and nothing more. Nothing else makes sense. No apology from the waitress, no other way to make it right after the EMBARRASSMENT they caused our family. We are not the type of people to ever falsely make a statement like this knowing the consequence’s/Impact that it could have on any person or business. What happened here was clear. Located in Menomonee Falls on Main St. We started with the combo appetizer, which was eggplant strips, mushrooms, 2 fried ravioli, and 2 mozzarella strips. The mozzarella is a slice of cheese coated and deep fried. This was just over $11. I didn't care for the marinara dipping sauce. To me, it tasted like canned tomatoes and tomato paste. Thin consistency with not a lot of seasoning. It also came with ranch. We ordered a large cheese, sausage, mushroom, and onion. It is made thin crust in a cookie sheet type pan. The under side of the pizza was not crisp but instead chewy and doughy. My daughter ordered the meatballs and pasta dinner, which came with a few slices of bread, a small dinner salad, and it came with one meatball, a small piece of lasagna, and a few ravioli. It was covered in the same marinara sauce as the appetizer platter. I also ordered a junior garden pizza to go, which was just okay. Our waiter was very friendly, and the restaurant/restrooms were very clean.

We thought we would try a new place tonight and picked this place after many great reviews from people in the area. We had 2 appetizers, spaghetti, 2 baked cod, and a pizza and were sadly disappointed. Perhaps we went on an off day? The fried eggplant was very bland with little to no seasoning, wings tasted like plain fried chick, the cod was on the overcooked side and pizza was very doughy/gummy and overly sweet. As far as seating, everyone seemed to be crammed into a small area instead of utilizing the party room available for larger groups. Instead my kids were sitting with people not more than a few inches behind them when sat at a table. I really wanted to love it, especially since my youngest is obsessed with spaghetti. I gave it 3 stars because our waiter tonight was amazing and very attentive! He definitely saved our visit from being a one star and outdid the food.
