Mr Brews Taphouse — Restaurant in Menomonee Falls

I live in the Falls and I try to patronize new restaurants in the area. My girlfriend and I went to Mr. Brews Taphouse in Menomonee Falls on Sunday evening. It was our first time there so we asked for a little extra time to order but that was our first mistake. Our waitress took her sweet time to come back to take our order and supposedly it did get taken. We were enjoying the different beers and appetizer we had chosen waiting for our main food to arrive, when I asked if the main food was on its way. Our waitress said it would be out shortly. It looked like the food had arrived at the window when I saw another waitress walk up and take food off of a plate and turn and eat it. I immediately walked over and asked what the hell are you doing? She said I made a mistake, that’s not what I saw! I said that I would pay for the drinks and appetizer and we left. As we were leaving she said I wasn’t supposed to see her doing that. Our waitress then said to tell the cook to cancel the order. What? Cancel the order that was over 30 minutes in for two burgers!! The beer selection at this tap house could bring a smile to anyone’s face and the prices are worth the time to swing by and visit. Their selection of beer feels like a tour around Lake Michigan’s different kinds of breweries. I would suggest this spot to taste a few prior to visiting one of those breweries. The service from which I have received at Mr. Brews Taphouse reflects the stars I have given them. Upon entry I was greeted, ordered a beer, and served quickly. Over 15 minutes after the beer was empty, I was finally served another. Within my 15 minutes of waiting I realized there were more than enough employees (with little to no customers) working for this kind of service not to happen, especially for someone sitting at the bar. Their food is just ok, my guest and I had ordered a burger and the weirdest part about the burgers were the fact that the vegetables tasted better then everything else on our trays. Both of our fries were slightly soggy, and the iron press taphouse logo on the bun leads to false hope to a desirable burger. Clean place, nice décor, generous amount of parking, but a convenient spot that looks good and has good beer will not bring returning customers if the service is not there, and food is...

We as a family of 4 (with 2 young kids) have been here twice in the past couple of weeks and we all agree the food is great! Excellent wings, great burgers, kids meals are basically free with an adult meal, even the service was very good. With all that said, both times we were there the place was absolutely filthy and both times we arrived right as the doors were opening for lunch at 11am. The floors were disgusting with food, filth, and stickiness everywhere you looked. Piles of food crumbs, dirt and trash under all tables and chairs. With two small kids things end up on the floor often and both times we visited I couldn’t get over how dirty the place was. On one of the occasions the tables didn’t appear to be any cleaner than the floors with last night’s patrons’ food and drink rings still coating the table tops. And the pull tab situation. We love pull tabs and often only go where we know we can get them, both times we’ve been to Mr. Brews the machine has been broken. Why not get it fixed?!
