If I could give this restaurant zero stars, I would—solely because of the terrible experience I had with one particular server/cashier. My wife placed an online order, and I arrived a little after the indicated pickup time, expecting a quick and seamless process. Instead, I found myself dealing with an employee who seemed more interested in playing power games than simply handing me the food I had already paid for.
I gave him my wife’s name, which is unique enough that there’s no chance of confusion. Rather than checking the order list and handing over the food, he kept asking me to repeat the name—over and over—like he couldn't just match it with what was clearly visible on his screen. Then, despite both of us literally seeing the correct name on his monitor, he refused to give me the order unless I could verify it on my phone.
I’ve picked up food from countless restaurants and never once had to go through this ridiculous verification process. What is this, some kind of classified government operation? I called my wife to confirm, but she didn’t pick up, leaving me stuck in this absurd situation while my fully paid-for food sat behind the counter. His excuse? He was afraid of giving me the DoorDash order by mistake. But let’s be clear—I wasn’t some random delivery driver. I was a paying customer, standing there in person, giving him the correct name while he had the order details right in front of him.
At this point, I was visibly frustrated, and yet he still refused to hand over the food. It wasn’t until someone from the kitchen came out—clearly sensing the tension—and reassured me that “it’s okay” that things finally moved forward. Just from the way they said it, I got the feeling that this isn’t the first time this employee has caused issues. Sure enough, when the food was finally handed to me, it was obvious that it had been sitting there for quite some time. Meaning this entire ordeal was completely unnecessary.
This should have been a two-minute pickup process, yet this employee dragged it into a five- to ten-minute frustration-fest for absolutely no reason. I don’t know if he enjoys messing with customers or if he truly believes he’s on some kind of security mission, but either way, it was beyond unacceptable.
Management needs to seriously reconsider keeping this guy on staff because he single-handedly ruined my experience. Needless to say, I won’t...
Read moreApparently NOT a vegan friendly restaurant.
Have been here several times over the last couple years, and have been told conflicting things about the menu.
On our first visit, we were told it was no problem to make most vegetarian dishes vegan by swapping out any butter (ghee) for oil. The server was able to easily identify any dishes that could be made vegan friendly.
Another visit, our server told us it was not possible to make any dishes vegan, but after telling the server that last time they were able to do so, the server checked with someone in back, who came out and said yes they could make the dishes vegan.
This latest visit was the worst. Our server seemed short and annoyed that we were asking about vegan dishes. We specified no dairy, which means no milk, no ghee, no butter, no cheese.
When asked which dishes could be made vegan, he didn't seem to understand. When explained, he kept saying "it's not possible" - then we asked about the veg biryani, which we almost ordered (he did not specify if it had dairy, after knowing that is what we were looking for - only after asking if it has ghee did he say yes it does, and "Do you still want it?" No we did not) we asked if it can be made without ghee but "it's not possible" he said.
Then we asked about the curries. He said none of the curries were made with ghee! Ok...
So we picked out 4 dishes. When they arrived, one of our dishes had paneer cubes in it. Now of course we didn't, again, reiterate and ask if the dishes were vegan (only that there was no ghee), because it had been such an ordeal to communicate. So perhaps that was an error on our part. But the server was not helpful, impatient with us, and borderline rude.
I understand it can be difficult when patrons have specific and varied dietary requirements, but this establishment does not want to cater to them, or at least...
Read moreThis place is not worth the time and there are better options in the area. I love indian food and was excited about this restaurant opening. My wife and I went to this restaurant for their grand opening on March 2nd. On both their website and google the restaurant was advertising an "all day buffet" so we waited to avoid the lunch rush and got there at about 2:20. The restaurant was very busy and was clearly having trouble coping with the amount of business they were doing. When we went up to the buffet there were many dishes that were empty which was unsurprising given how busy they were. Several hot dishes were also either covered with saran wrap or had saran wrap down in the food. This was a surprise as the buffet was opened at 11:30. What food we did have was sub par. The butter chicken, one of my favorite dishes, was sweet to the point of inedible and biryani was greasy. My wife had naan that was either overcooked or completely undercooked but inedible either way. The naan that I had was edible but a little tough. Apparently the staff decided to stop refilling the buffet without warning or announcement. We found out because we asked if the buffet would be refilled and were told it would not and fed some story about how they had reached the time that the buffet was scheduled to end. The staff had no cogent response to my pointing out that the website indicated that it was scheduled for all day. To their credit we were not charged for the experience. Overall I wish we had not gone. There are other similar restaurants in the area such as Persis and Swagath Indian Cuisine. I have gone to these restaurants many times and have never been disappointed. I would not recommend Paradise Biryani Pointe and have no...
