Maria's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Meridian

So I have never eaten there until tonight. People always said there's only one or two good Mexican restaurants in Meridian but I always thought they were just picky. I'm one of those that I'll eat just about anything unless you royally mess up. So Maria's got 2 stars from me because I DID eat the food. I paid $32 on waitr for two lousy meals. Part of that 32 was $4 for 4 ounces of what they're calling guacamole. Yes, I ate it... but it was just crushed avocado. Literally. And for a buck an ounce, it was a huge rip off. The two meals were a steak quesadilla and a steak/shrimp/chicken (Texas) fajita. The steak quesadilla was mine and I can't speak for my husband who had the Texas fajita. The steak quesadilla was unappetizing. I basically only ate it because I was hungry and didn't feel like making anything else. Looking at it, it looked okay. In fact the appearance looked great. I was ready for that good ole Mexican flavor. Nope. It's hard to explain but it just tasted like a flavor vaccum came by and made it into some decorative tofu. The refried beans were the only good thing. Even the salsa sucked. If I had spent like $7 on my meal and the guacamole was included, I would have not felt bad. But it was a rip off overall and just didn't fix my hankering...

We walked in and waited, even though the restaurant was almost empty... finally was seated, and the waiter was rushing us to order... he made it seem like we were bothering him by being there... we placed our orders and during the process we told him to hold the green peppers on my dad's food because he does not like them, he said they are not hot, I said he does not like them, and he was just dumbfounded... he put our orders in, and when he brought refills he gave my niece sweet tea when she does not like it, he said no soda is available now... the food came out and it looked like children's serving sizes.... we still ate, only to get our check and it be over $100... first and last visit for us... also you need to do better on cleaning your floors nobody should have to hold onto the walls to make sure you do not fall because of how...

We was absolutely treated unfairly we was parking with the semi tractor only its the only vehicle we have so we can get carry out food from Maria's Mexican Restaurant "some random boy comes out of the restaurant and knocks on our semi tractor says you can't park here? We was like are you for real we are getting carry out food not eating inside.. This place has a large parking lot space with really no other vehicles around We are getting take out food at the restaurant here?" this place has a big parking lot and unfortunately we did move but will never come here at all thumbs down awful place.. ...😱 I wouldn't recommend anyone who drives a semi tractor only! just to get carry out food and not to mention they don't greet you at all. and they didn't wear no masks at this restaurant.no social distance in the kitchen either bathroom were...
