Walked in and the place was so smoky it almost hurt your eyes. Order our food and the girl told us it would be a 5 minute wait for the katsu chicken. She gives us the rest of the food and we sit down thinking she must be bringing out the katsu when it’s ready. (She also had no idea how to ring up the free plates I was getting because of redeeming points.) Go get our sodas and the soda spot is a mess. It’s sticky and dirty with trash. The floor is so sticky our shoes were sticking to it. The Diet Coke was coming out clear, the Coke tasted like carbonated water. Finally found a soda that hadn’t run out of syrup. Started eating the teriyaki chicken, it was overcooked to the point you could barely cut through it with a knife. Almost finished our food and never got the katsu chicken. My husband went up to ask the girl for the katsu and she had no idea what he was talking about. Finally remembered, and told him she would grab it. Started doing online orders….never grabbed it. He sat down, so i go up and wait in line at the order spot to try a different employee. Was ignored for almost 5 minutes while people were fulfilling online ordering. Finally interrupted a kid and tried to explain to him about the katsu. Once he finally gets what I’m saying he goes to get me the food and once again the katsu ran out and there was a wait. I sit back down thinking he will grab it. Nope. I see them dump more katsu in the pan so i run up and ask the original girl at the register for the katsu. She says she will grab it and then once again starts fulfilling online orders and doesn’t get the food! I finally interrupted the person ordering behind me (it was someone I knew so i felt comfortable interrupting his ordering) and asked a THIRD employee for the katsu chicken. After it took a little bit of explaining for him to understand what i was going on, he FINALLY cut me a little bit of katsu. It was maybe enough for 1 katsu chicken, when we had ordered 2 (for the Ekolu plate). But by this time, it was NOT worth it to ask for more. Worst experience at any Mo Bettahs we have ever gone to. Next time we will just go through the drive thru at the Chinden location to avoid the front of the restaurant...
Read moreHas anyone noticed the Downward Change in the Mo' Bettah Restaurant on Chinden Blvd in Meridian at the Winco shopping center? The past few times I've gone there, it has progressively gotten worst to the point that I will no longer be going there. I loved that place when they first opened up and I highly recommended it to everyone. But now, It's Just the opposite. For me, it is no longer a Good Value. The prices have not gone up, but the portions are getting smaller and smaller. SHRINK-FLATION... Numerous times Mo' Bettah has gotten the order wrong and I would not find out until I've gotten home... Frustrating. Last night was the last straw. I ordered 8 meals. We were having a birthday party. 4 of the meals was 1/2 chicken and 1/2 steak and another was a Double order of Shrimp After I ordered, one of the employees said to me, "We have to cook more steak. Can you wait 15 minutes for it?" I said, that's okay, l will wait. 10 seconds later she said, "Never mind, we have enough Steak." That should have sent up a red flag to me. I get home and 2 of the 1/2 & 1/2 meals had only 3 small pieces of steak in each of them. Steeling from Peter to pay Paul kinda thing. And I never got the Shrimp meal. After I got home and started to give everyone their meals, That is when I found out about the missing Shrimp meal and small steak portions. I went back to get the Double order of shrimp and the Manager gives me 3 pieces of shrimp. I said, "That is a Double order?" She said, "Yes, 3 pieces is all you get. That is a double order." $10.00 for 3 pieces of shrimp... WOW!!! When I told her about the Under portion of the steak meals, I showed her the photos I took of the meals before I gave them out. She said, "We weight out our portions and you only get 2.5 ounces of steak in a meal. In the photos attached, the meals have not been touched. First person didn’t know how to make a salad bowl after asking her for one after watching her struggle to help a prior customer. She waited for the cashier to check someone out who got it half done and someone came to the front to finish checking them out after they had already started helping me with a premade salad in boil that they through 3 tiny pieces of meat on. “It was the rest they had” I said I could wait until they could make more and he said nahhhhh… it should be good. Meanwhile I sat there at the counter and watched him watch another worker cook the meat the whole time until it finished at which point he left to help a doordasher or something. This said I hadn’t even ordered the food for myself yet and watched the girl who was standing anxiously behind the… I’d say chaos but everyone was just kind of standing there not even talking hardly. Only 1 person could work at a time it felt like. Anyways she started helping the customer after me with their food who half way dishes up two plates until the customer finally points out that I still need help. Meanwhile my salad with three pieces of meat is still on a scale until finally the one guy came back from the DoorDash order to finish my order. Another guy then checked me out who didn’t charge me right and almost didn’t give me my second plate. He also mischarged me for extra meat for my 3 pieces and no sauce for the salad even.
