We got the Pretzel for an apatizer and it was fantastic! The beer mustard and beer cheese dips it came with were also amazing. My only complaint there is that even dipping conservativly there wasn't enough of the dip to last the whole pretzel. The first beer it ordered was the Lost Grove Robot Rambo Hazy IPA and I kinda wish there was a description of the flavor because it was very floral and floral beers are not my thing. The second beer I ordered was the Cali wheat blood orange and it was absolutely delicious. My wife ordered the Voo-Dill Pizza and it was top notch! Came to the table piping hot! I ordered the Good Vibes Bacon Blue and this is where I was a little disappointed. The bacon was soft soft without a single bit of crunchiness to it. I expect bacon on a burger to be somewhat crunchy. Their was also a very conservative portion of blue cheese and it was all to one side of the burger instead of being evenly distributed. The Service was prompt and quick with multiple people checking in to see if we needed anything else which I appreciate. The atmosphere was just probably the luck of the draw as we had an extremely loud table of 10 to 12 next us and I could barley hear my wife across the table. this place was so close to getting 5 stars but the burger with soggy undercooked bacon and skimping out on the blue cheese is what lost the star for me. I will definitely go back at some point and hopefully it was just a one off with the bacon and they earn that 5th...
Read moreI've been to this spot a few times, and while I appreciate the local vibe and the rotating guest taps (which are usually the highlight for me), the food continues to be mediocre at best. It feels like mostly frozen options straight out of a US Foods truck -- nothing to get excited about.
What really pushed me to write this review, though, was trivia night. I won't be participating again. It was incredibly obvious that a group of regulars -- including the trivia host and the bartender -- were all too comfortable letting blatant cheating slide. I watched them openly use Google and image searches, discuss answers, and rack up near-perfect scores both rounds. It was so flagrant it made playing feel pointless. Everyone could see it, but since they're clearly regulars, the behavior was ignored.
Yes, trivia is just a game, and no, my group wasn't going to win regardless -- but watching the host allow it to happen without even trying to enforce fair play killed any fun we might've had. It also cost the host a tip.
If you're going just for a drink and maybe a bite, manage your expectations. If you're thinking about trivia night? I'd skip...
Read moreI am not THAT old fashioned, tbh. I'm down with QR code menus and have used them a million times. The thing that I don't enjoy is not even being greeted or acknowledged for ages, even after looking at the menu. Servers breezed on by with completely vapid indifference. After ordering we got drinks delivered and had to ask for additional napkins, etc. Whatever. The lack of humanity had to be resolved by getting good food. However, I got the pizza. It's called the "easy cheesy pizza" for a reason. Because it tastes prepackaged and probably was microwaved in the kitchen. I didn't know garlic could be that bland. The garlic tastes like it was pulled out of a can from the 1940s, where it had been discovered hiding in an old bomb shelter. The cheese was just a texture, not even a flavor. The crust was neutral at best. (In case you're wondering, there are two missing pieces on the pizza. One I ate 2 bites of and stored in a napkin. The other, my companion ate part of and tossed aside. Blegh.) The experience was so lacking in everything that I won't ever return, and I live 3 minutes away. I wanted to like it....
