I hate corn dogs! Though, since I was a little boy, corns dogs was a carnival-food-type-thing that everyone else seemed to enjoy, I have never had a corndog that I wanted to finish, let alone enjoyed. So when some friends wanted to go here for a Saturday lunch, I was not thrilled. Nope. But the pics of the food and the reviews had me thinking, what the heck, this may be something different.
I had the basic full corndog sprinkled with sugar and a side of some sort of fish cake and soft-rice-chunk-noodle-thing stew, called Tteok Bokki. I put some sweet and hot sauce in one corner of my corn dog container and some creamy Sriracha sauce in another corner, for dipping and got a can of Coke.
I'll admit my friends did not enjoy their Tteok Bokki, but I really did...so the fish and rice thing may not be for everyone, but I'm very glad I tried it. The whole meal was not just good, it was all really satisfying. How satisfying? I went back the next day and had the same thing, only without sugar on the corndog, and I was just as happy.
This is not your high-school lunch room or 7-11 or K-mart or movie theater corn dog. This has not been kept hot-and-ready under heat lamps or over hot rollers. This is fast food that has been thought about and put together like real food. I'm looking forward to coming back to try out the rest...
Read moreMy first Korean corn dog so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but nonetheless delicious. And if you are someone who loves a well done combination of textures, this will surely scratch that itch. Highly recommend trying the ramen crust and the hot Cheeto topping. The potato dog with cheeto topping was my #1 and squid ink with ramen crust #2. We also tried the rice cake with ramen crust (texturally I thought was the best) and the sweet potato 1/2 dog 1/2 mozz. I think the 1/2 mozz is too much cheese for me, but others will definitely love that.
Staff super friendly and helpful with ordering.
Very clean and brand new inside, which is something I always get excited about. Usually a good indicator that they take great pride in their food and understand how a poorly organized or dirty space can affect people’s experience with the food itself.
Overall very solid and will be back to try new flavors. Probably next time after a hike, seems like it would...
Read moreWhy isn't this place more popular? I kind of want to gatekeep it because I don't want all the two hands girlies to flock over there and ruin the short wait time. Yet again this place needs more business because it truly is the superior Korean corn dog establishment. The batter was thick and crispy, the cheese pulls were 10/10, and the selection was chef's kiss. I personally got the sweet potato dog with half cheese and half dog and it was the best Korean corn dog I've ever had. Better than two hands down the road.
I definitely want to go back and try the squid ink dog because the picture looked SO intriguing. They also sell teokbokki and they have so many sauces to choose from (my bestie wants to call out the sweet chili sauce because that is a. NEED)
The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity since the dogs are HEFTY. TRUST we will be returning when we need a Korean corn...
