When Doug on King of Queens had pho for the first time, he slapped his hand on the table and exclaimed, "Hold the pho-one. This is insane" We love that for Doug.
The one day we had what felt remotely like cooler weather, a group of us instantly ran to go get pho. Having had this place on my radar for a minute, we decided to pop in to try a new place. Wow, this place gets busy! Here's what I had:
Phá» Sưá»n BĂČ (Beef short ribs pho), $19.99: Get this. The depth of flavor in this broth is so good. The broth is clear, which is a great sign, and I appreciated that the noodles were served on the side as I had to take home half my meal (it kept my soup clean until combining). As for the ribs in it, they were great. The meat was tender and it was easily cut off the bone with the provided knife.
Nem Nưá»ng Cuá»n (Grilled pork rolls), $5.49: Spring rolls are one of my favorite things to eat. They're seriously one of the best foods out there. It's confined in an edible package, you get greens, you get noodles, and you get protein. Love it! At Saigon Jade, their Nem Nưá»ng Cuá»n is served with peanut sauce. Fresh, filling, and oh so good. I could eat spring rolls as a meal.
This was a great spot and the staff is really friendly. They were a bit short-staffed though so have grace with them. The food came at a staggered pace and some of us even finished our meal before the last person got their mango salad. I'll be back...
Read moreI call myself a pho lover, half of the times when I go out to eat is to get pho and with that being said, I think I can say Iâve tried quite a few Vietnamese restaurants around here. And this place has easily become my new favorite instantaneously. I got pho with brisket ribeye and meatball. Literally devoured the whole bowl until I could see the bottom. A lot of times meatballs taste smelly in many places and make me end up leaving em but it was good here! Egg roll was great too, came out with the fish sauce I loveđ€ my husband got the one with âsmallâ ribs that are in no way small in portion. And he loved this place as well. I am not Vietnamese so I donât think I can really discuss the authenticity of this place but it did look taste smell and feel VERY genuine and authentic to me. I was convinced right after I set my foot in. Everyone is nice and attentive enough, you get your foods pretty fast and donât have to awkwardly cut your conversation during your meal nor rush to leave. Canât wait to go back, the only thing is that I would love to try all the other foods on the menu but not sure if I could cuz your pho is too dang good I will prob get pho everytime I go!!!!!!! Thank you for making...
Read moreAll Vietnamese restaurants are the same! NO... They are not. There is hopefully something that stands out uniquely. I found it here. Saigon Jade! Duck Soup! Yes, Duck soup Fa. Duck portion served in a rich broth, and egg noodles. This is a rare find in the city. The duck was a little on the tough side.(Still very Delicious) Perhaps the portion a bit small. Nevertheless it took nothing away from the excitement to have and was most enjoyable. I also ordered the crispy rolls. Fat, hot ,delicious! Ingredients were fresh and fragrant. Tasty textures and flavours make this a great spot for friends and families. Oh ..., If you are a fan of French coffee, you are in for a treat. cĂ phĂȘ sữa ÄĂĄ or Iced Milk coffee is one of the best i've ever tried; here or in Canada. Very busy on this Sunday eve. Quick seating. Super friendly and professional. A bountiful selection of dishes of meat and or veg. Something for the common or adventurous types. Comfortable atmosphere to accommodate all who seek out a great place to eat. Located in the little mall on Broadway and Dobson. I will be back to this spot very very soon. P.S. Side note* This place is OPEN on Monday and CLOSED...
