Highlight: Our family doesn’t often get the chance to be together because of my ongoing health challenges, but Oregano’s on Dobson & Southern gave us a night we’ll never forget. Cody, our server, truly embodied the warmth, kindness, and spirit of Oregano’s, turning a simple dinner into a cherished memory.
Full Review: My grandmother and I, don’t often get the opportunity to spend quality time together due to ongoing health challenges, which makes every moment we share that much more significant. Our visit to Oregano’s on Dobson & Southern was one of those rare occasions where we could set everything aside and simply enjoy being together — and the experience we had was nothing short of exceptional.
From the moment we sat down, Cody set the tone for the evening. He wasn’t just efficient or polite; he was warm, attentive, and genuinely caring in a way that is hard to put into words. Every interaction felt personal, thoughtful, and filled with the kind of hospitality that makes you feel valued and seen. Cody embodied the culture and values of Oregano’s effortlessly, and he turned what could have been an ordinary dinner into a truly meaningful experience.
Because of the challenges we face, time spent with my family is rare and precious. Cody gave us a gift we cannot thank him enough for: the chance to laugh freely, share stories, and create memories without worry. That’s something we will carry with us long after the plates were cleared.
My grandmother was especially moved. She expressed how much joy it brought her to see Oregano’s thriving in such a complicated and often difficult world. In her words, it reminded her that love, kindness, and happiness are still alive and present here — and she wanted to reflect that same spirit back to this restaurant.
We left Oregano’s that evening with more than just full plates; we left with full hearts. The food was delicious, the atmosphere inviting, but it was Cody’s care and authenticity that made this visit unforgettable. He reminded us why Oregano’s is so special and why it continues to hold a place not only in this community, but in families like ours who come searching for more than just a meal.
For us, Oregano’s was not simply a restaurant tonight — it was a place of connection, comfort, and joy. Cody, thank you for giving our family a memory we’ll treasure.
👉 To Oregano’s management: please know you have someone very special in Cody. His service represents the very best of what your restaurant stands for, and we hope he gets the recognition he so...
Read moreWe brought a party of 8 to a late lunch on a Saturday. 230pm. I had called 5 minutes before and was told there was no wait. When we arrived we were told there was a 30-40 minute wait, which I questioned because the restaurant was only 1/2 full. We waited and watched party after party arrive and be seated promptly including 2 large parties of 6+ people. After 35 minutes I complained to the general manager who raised her voice to me and told me my 40 minutes wasn't up yet. I took a picture of the dining room (half full) We were finally seated after 50 minutes. Then our 3 pizza's arrived cold. My salad had 2 lettuce butts in it and was brown and slimy. My wings arrived right before our dessert, so I had to request a to go box and not eat them at all. Plus, we never got any refills on drinks after asking twice. The Manager was very stern with me at the end of the meal for causing problems for her with the large party since this was only her 3 week managing. I pointed out 2 other parties that were larger than ours. I also pointed out the cold pizzas and slimy salad and late wings. She didn't even apologize. She took the salad off our bill since I sent it back to the kitchen. I contacted corporate Oreganos and offered names, pictures and statements from the other adults in our party. They sent me a one line apology email, never addressing any of our concerns with the wait with a half empty dining room and cold and slimy/brown and late food. We spent $200 at Oreganos that day. We have eaten at Oreganos for years. And taken many out of town guests there for dinner and lunches. They used to be the best! But, NEVER AGAIN! Especially since Corporate didn't even care. How can you not care that your food is coming out cold and brown and slimy? Not to mention the lies their new General Manager told and yelled at us. Obviously other people have had the same experience that we had. They used to be packed no matter what time of day you went to Oreganos. I pass by there everyday driving my kids home from school and no one is ever there. If you want cold expensive pizza and brown slimy salads Oreganos is the place to go. Just a shame. They used...
Read moreI’ll take a moment to share our entire experience on this one. My wife and I arrived to wait at the hostess podium for about 3-5 minutes while servers are huddled in the back near the order station. After a wait and finally being seated we were luckily enough to sit at the widow that just so happened to be covered in flys. We nearly felt like we were sitting in the patio area but we dealt with it. The service was fine and our waitress was very nice.
I ordered the rigatoni with the chipotle cream sauce that comes on the Big Rig Pasta. That was decent and enjoyable so I couldn’t complain.
The secondary dish is what my wife ordered. She decided to try something new and ordered the Lady is a Scampi dish. Typically you’ll get a cream sauce with a scampi, but this was not the case here. It was sauce less and there was enough oil on the plate to make you think the cook just dumped from pan to plate and did not drain at all. My wife finished about half of her food before finishing was just not bearable. The chicken seemed like it was sliced at a local grocery store, a bit dry and the dish lacked flavor all around.
I would give this visit a 2/5 stars due to the lack of comfort you feel when you walk in to watch servers socializing while waiting to be seated, the food quality being a bust for 50% or the tables order and the fly’s were frustrating to say the least. The only saving grace on this visit was our server who was delightful.
Edit: I received a message on google (see in this listing) request I email them for further information or to possibly do something with out subpar experience. I have emailed twice with zero response and has been a week. Dropping my rating to one star due to the specific outreach with...
