My wife & I ate here many occasions, since the last review. The service is friendly, polite & efficient.
Their Pho Dac Biet (house special beef noodle soup) is above typical, with the broth pretty savory.
The vegetarian lo mein is full of flavors, yet lighter than the version with meat.
We will eat at this restaurant again when having the opportunity to.
Original review.
My wife & I first visited this restaurant in early September 2017. We were impressed by its size; larger than the typical Vietnamese restaurants in the area.
The service was prompt and courteous. We were served complementary steamed edamame to snack on while we reviewed the menus.
The pho dac biêt (= house special beef noodle soup) was very good; the noodle cooked right, the meat tender & tasty, the broth flavorful.
The goi ngo sen tôm thit (= salad of lotus stems with shrimp & pork) was also very good. It was fresh & tasty; the dressing savory; the shrimp & pork cooked right.
We looked forward to returning to this restaurant to try other dishes when in the neighborhood.
Well, we had several opportunities to go back to this restaurant. The service remained constant.
The bún bò Húê (= spicy beef pork noodle soup) was ordinary. The broth could use more lemongrass. The other ingredients, while fresh, lacked seasonings.
The phở đặc biệt became ordinary as well. The broth was not as savory as before. The combination rice plate with grilled chicken & pork was also typical.
Consequently, both my wife and I are now neutral about this restaurant. It is part of our rotation list of...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I came here 3 times before and each time the food was good and service was good although there was a language barrier. We came in at 7:50pm and ordered our food, before our food was delivered we saw the owner lock the doors and shut off the “open” sign. On the door it clearly says that they close at 9pm. The food came out and we then saw the owners getting their stuff together to leave. We were beginning to feel really rushed and we could not enjoy our food as much. The owners husband kept looking at us every chance he could get, giving us the “are you done stare” we asked for the check so they could see we had every intention on leaving once we were finished eating. We left a tip at the table regardless of the service and the owners husband came to pick up the tip and left everything else on the table ( I was still eating at this point) . The owner and her husband then proceeded to stand by the door and went outside to wait for us to get out of their restaurant .It was a very uncomfortable experience and I will not be returning. Etiquette is required to own and run a...
Read moreI visited this restaurant on 12/28 and I was the only customer which should've been a sign to go somewhere else, but I had been driving around for awhile already. Well I ordered the traditional special beef soup, since the bun bo hue (spicy beef) was not available. The food came out pretty quick, but my sliced beef was way over cooked and some pieces seem like it was dried out, dark brown color. Plus the tendon was really tough. I was done with my meal after 15 mins and the waitress was sitting at the hostess table watching videos on her phone while I waited for someone to drop off a check. So I walked up to her after 5 mins and it almost seemed like I surprised her. I paid, no tip of course. Service at beginning was good, then fizzled. Broth was good, other ingredients were mediocre and for +$10 I think the value is in the Meikong...
