We had the most amazing experience at Seiji's Omakase! One of the best in my overall culinary experience! We went for a 7-course kaiseki dinner and we enjoyed every single item! The quality of the ingredients is top-notch, the creativity of the chef allowed us to experience new flavors and combinations that literally left us with no words... By opting for a counter service you have also the great opportunity to chat with the chef who will carefully explain you what you are going to eat and this really improved our overall experience. The chef and his staff will let you enjoy a unique experience. Everything will be prepared at the moment and in front of you. Everything was amazing!!! We will definitely come back to try new combinations and to friendly chat with the chef! Please, if you really love trying an authentic experience, go...

Seiji’s Omakase, Metairie, LA

Gem hidden in plain sight on Causeway in Metairie. Mr. Seiji lends a creative hand on a variety of fish delivered with joy that it is hard to imagine Omakasa anywhere else. The setting is spare and simple tucked behind little Tokyo restaurant on Causeway Boulevard in Metairie. Keep your decor expectations low but the sushi is spectacular - talent that is difficult to hide.

What we ate: Omakase menu that included a variety of fish Japanese snapper fresh tuna, fatty, tuna, salmon, king, snapper, smoked cod, fish, soup, Tataki, and a lot more.

Just put yourself in Mr. Seiji’s hands and you will have a spectacular experience.

Seiji's Omakase is truly a hidden gem. The nigiri pieces are top-tier, with exceptional quality and the appetizers and desserts add such a thoughtful touch to the experience. The atmosphere is cozy, perfect for a date night or a more celebratory meal with friends—though, definitely book in advance. They also offer yuzu sake that pairs beautifully with every course, giving it that extra flavor. It’s a bit of a quieter escape from the usual busy spots, and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking for a more laid-back yet top-notch sushi experience. Definitely a place I’ll be...

This is my favorite omakase in the city hands down! We had the 4 course omakase which included an appetizer, 12 pieces of sushi, a lovely seafood soup, and dessert. We loved the Hokkaido scallop with foie gras, the miso cod, amberjack, eel and flounder. Truly every piece was delicious. Chef Seiji is clearly a master of his craft and the service is impeccable. I feel Seiji’s is as good as Nagomi and much more accessible.
