Kats Diner — Restaurant in Metter

Let's just get something straight: my husband and I have been talking about Kat's onion rings since we left Metter over a week ago. So, if you're lucky enough to live near here, PLEASE GO GET SOME ONION RINGS AND THINK OF ME! Seriously though, everyone at this establishment was incredibly sweet, our party's orders were all perfect, and we drooled on our way home to Texas. Okay, we didn't literally drool ... but I think you get the picture. Do yourself a favor and go get those onion rings ... for me ... please! I'll be over here dreaming of them until I find myself traveling down 16, headed to Savannah, 'cause you know I'm gonna have to stop at Kat's...

A breath of fresh air, just off the interstate, head and shoulders above any impersonal chain restaurant.

The first thing you notice walking through the door are the bright eyes and genuine smiles of the service staff - as if they were waiting for you to come by and sit a spell. From then on, you're a new part of the family, welcomed and advised on all the goodness on the menu.

And all the great atmosphere and service culminates in the most important part;

I have had the opportunity to dine at Kat's on two separate occasions. I was not disappointed. First I must talk about the loaded Nachos. This is a large plate of nachos. The best part is that the cheese is not only on top but they layer the cheese and ingredients into the chips. The onions and peppers were grilled to perfection. This could easily be a meal onto itself. The fried shrimp plate is very delicious. An interesting thing about the sandwiches is that you can get each sandwich with a burger, fried or grilled chicken.
