3 stars is a bit higher than deserved for our experience, but we do want to give this place another chance.
We are locals and really wanted to like this place. The service was friendly and the menu a decent value, but at the end of the experience one feels like they just ate at one of those tourist trap restaurants on Ocean Drive. I wish this wasn’t the case.
The waiter suggested two specials for the kids that were not on the menu, lasagna & mac and cheese. Both plates came in tiny-pans, about the size of of a plate used for crem brûlée, and to our surprise both cost more than any other entre on the menu.
My wife and I had a nice carpaccio and a decent pizza along with a couple of nice Italian wines.
Our kind and affable waiter, just 3 weeks arrived from New York, tried to upsell water (so cliche) while telling us that they hoped to buy out the taco place next door so they could expand the kitchen and serve more pasta.
When the check came, 18% was automatically added (again, so cliché) and when the credit card receipt came the tip section was left blank. I looked around at the tourists around us and realized that half of them were going to double tip (again, tacky).
Years ago, Lincoln Road was an escape from Ocean Drive. Now, Lincoln Road is Ocean Drive and you really have to find quality, value and decency elsewhere (like Oliver’s on West Ave. or Ice Box and Barceloneta in Sunset Harbor).
The 5 star reviews on this thread seem to come from friends of the owners. The owners need to decide who they want to cater to, tourists or locals, before the restaurant-killing summer months of Miami Beach arrive. Perhaps they could benchmark some of the restaurants for locals nearby?
I wish this...
Read moreCame here for late lunch (party of 2). Sat outside as there were many tables available and it was not too busy. Ordered 2 apps (octopus carpaccio and beef carpaccio) and 1 pizza after sitting for about 10 minutes. Once we ordered we were not approached again and the apps came after about 1/2. As we waited, a party of about 6 came and ordered their food. We had been sitting there for an hour by now and noticed the party of 6 was being served their pizzas apps and everything else. I had to get up and Inform the waiter that we had not gotten our pizza and how it was possible the table that arrived 30 min later was already eating. To say the least, we lost our appetite and requested they cancel the pizza and give us our check. As we waited for the bill we noticed the pizza we ordered was given for free to the table of 6. As you can imagine we didn't receive an apology for the delay or anything and the short french guy that claimed to be the owner smirked and mocked us as i advised we needed our check immediately. This place has terrible service. I understand food takes time to come out, but this was a blatant disregard for our time and exceptionally disrespectful. A simple apology or even an "i forgot to place your order" would have been sufficient. I don't recommend this place at all, unless you are looking to be treated like garbage. Whoever the short french guy is, should be fired, and if you are the owner, i hope you learn some courtesy and appreciate your customes or you will not be in business long. Go next door to Huahuas or ceviche 105, those places have great staff and even...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Pizzette, and I must say, it was an absolute delight. The ambiance was charming and cozy, creating the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing evening.
The pizzas were simply outstanding. The crust was thin and crispy, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. The variety of options available catered to all tastes, from classic margherita to unique gourmet combinations. Each bite was a burst of deliciousness.
To complement the pizza, their selection of wines was great. The serveur was knowledgeable and helped us choose the perfect wine to accompany our meal. The wine enhanced the flavors of the pizza, creating a harmonious and enjoyable dining experience.
The staff was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout our visit. They were knowledgeable about the menu and made helpful recommendations. Our food arrived promptly, and they ensured we had everything we needed to thoroughly enjoy our meal.
Overall, I highly recommend Pizzette restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. The combination of delectable pizzas, fantastic wine selection, and top-notch service makes it a true gem. Whether it's a casual outing or a special occasion, this place is definitely worth a visit....
