On 03/4/2025 My girlfriend and I decide to go and give kids Caribbean cuisine a try You order a jerk chicken and curry chicken and we're told that it would be ready in 20 minutes or so 2 hours surprise once returning we were told that they did not have any of these items I told the cashier who seemed to be under the influence of something to get us the fried pork even though I did not want that and as I was telling him that and he went in the back to tell the cook to make it when he came back I told him not to worry about it and to just refund us our money because they didn't have anything that we wanted available. The cashier took his time and fumbled around with his phone until the cook was able to cook the pork and when he called chef k she told him that there were no refunds and that she could only refund the food that had not been made already from the time we got into the restaurant the situation was one of bad customer service and we would not go there again. We took the fried pork but could not help but feel that due to the service it was hard to eat the food it would be common courtesy if your customer is not happy with your customer service to refund them for your food but chef care refused to do so that's why I'm posting this review and we do not usually post reviews on restaurants even when the food is bad hopefully they correct this in the future.
And just so we understand I'm not saying that the food is awful but the cashier that works there seems to be under the influence of something and even when we were gone he had to repeat people had to repeat certain things so that he could understand I think that's a disservice to the restaurant and anybody that runs a restaurant should be able to take the bullet when it's bad service involved are you don't have the food that they want. The cashier should be fired.
Also to be fair she did give us a refund for the food that could not be provided at the time which was the curry chicken but it just leaves a bad taste in your mouth when someone thinks that that plate is more important than word of mouth and...
Read moreThrough adversity opportunities arise to show our metal. And Chef Kay is made of the right stuff! The food, the service, and the soul here is parallel to none. I’ve eaten at the French Landry (in fact rented the entire restaurant for my party) in wine country which is supposed to be the best restaurant in the country, and I would laugh in your face if you tried to compare Chef Kay’s fiery pasta to anything the most Michelin starred restaurant could try to put up as competition.
My favorite thing about this place is how it validates the old adage; you can look up the restaurant with the highest price or ratings, but without an open mind and some exploration and adventure, you will miss your date with fate and the best food you will ever taste.
If you know… you know… shout out to chef Kay fans...
Read moreMy price of food was different from what the menu advertised. Waited 1 hours for curry chicken rice and peas and Mac and cheese. Sides on the menu say 2 sides but the cashier will charge and upcharge that's not listed on the menu. A young lady came in 10 minutes after me and has gotten her food and has been gone for 20 minutes. Bad business. I don't see this business lasting. If they know you they fix your food first. It's not first come...
