Sunday's Eatery — Restaurant in Miami Gardens

After hearing about this restaurant for the past few years my daughter and I decided to support it in its newest location. Stated to be owned by the famed Rapper, Trick Daddy, the lines were once around the block at the prior location, so I never was able to get in. On this occasion I ordered two dinners. We arrived about 5:50pm, the order was taken about 6:06pm. Placed the order and waited in the car where about 30 minutes later we received a text message that the order was about ready. My daughter went inside and after a few minutes her orders were handed to her bagged up. Knowing always to check the bags before leaving, she found each plate to be missing rice, meat fried but not smothered as requested, etc., basically nothing she ordered. She politely brought it to the attention of the staff who told her there was not anymore rice, or gravy. My daughter asked why the bag was passed off to her secured as if the order was complete, in that if not checked, she would have left and not possibly known until she got home that her order was incomplete. The staff then person offered her side dishes but only had enough for one plate so offered "complimentary" desserts instead. While sorting through our dilemma, a customer returned back to the eatery after finding their order was incomplete as well. That told me that this is a bad pattern the staff has implemented in failing to disclose to the customers their order was not fulfilled. The food itself was satisfactory. The mac and cheese given in place of the rice was not edible due to too much seasoning, and I actually love well seasoned food, but it was too much for me. The greenbeans tasted like they were made in a hurry and just dumped out of a can and heated. These were to replace the collard greens they were out of. They took the time to fry pork chops but could not make a two minute gravy to smother them as requested, so that was quite perplexing since our plates and the returning customer was missing their gravy. By the way the staff admitted they knew the orders were missing items yet passed them on anyway. As we stated to them, we would have gladly made other choices, or canceled the order had we just been made aware. It would not have been an issue. However, we felt that we were deliberately deceived. The "trick" was on us and it still is months away from Halloween. Hopefully, management will keep an onsite manager there at all times, and has someone to check quality control of the food. This was disappointing and if not nipped in the bud could ruin a business really fast. Many businesses blame their declining sales on.the economy when lack of customer service is the issue. This place is a tourist magnet but the loyal base is the community and when they have issues they stop going and pass the word. We need our businesses to thrive so hopefully this gets addressed...

Ever since I started watching Trick Daddy cook and this place open, I’ve wanted to visit Miami and try Sundays. Well to my surprise it was an epic fail! I’ve never been so disappointed as I was with the food and service that I received on 3/29/2025! I may have been more hurt than disappointed. I arrived, 4 of us total, parked, and before I could enter I was met by 4 different people selling different items from the trunk of their car directly in front of the restaurant’s entrance 👎🏽It took 15 minutes to get past that foolishness, I don’t knock Anyone’s hustle, but that was absolutely ridiculous! And should not be allowed , and a bit scary with the persistence that came with it. Once I made it in I saw that it wasn’t very many tables to sit and eat at, the 3-4 were filled. And it’s not the type food to grab and go to eat in the car. Luckily a table became available, after I cleaned it myself. We ordered the fried ribs , one order smothered the other not , fried Cornish hen and fried catfish, mistakes 1234! 🫣😡 the meat on the hen and ribs were so dry overcooked or cooked days prior!🙄😩 the rice was crunchy, the repass beans , I mean green beans tasted can like jiffy muffin was too sweet blue lemonade was diabetic (ish) I tried ordering the Blue Velvet cake ( 4 slices) but was told the woman that baked it was dead , yet it’s still on the menu. This was the result of a hour and 17 minute wait And the only thing that was hot was my attitude.And that could have partially been from all of the fanning of the flies. I wanted to purchase the seasoning but was told something not worth repeating. Bottom line Is I traveled a long way for disappointment and waste of time. Never again and I do not recommend this place. The food is GREAT but their customer services sucks. I visited here 3 years ago and made a promise to always visit when I'm near but this time was way different. They did switched locations on me but the workers were different. This place is always packed so I knew there was gonna be a line. The first time I went he was fully stafed with a more mature crowd working. This time there were young Immature young girls and not a full staff in the kitchen. After waiting 2 hours for my food I had to demand my money back if my food wasn't ready. So then magically my food comes out. I asked to speak with the manager About getting commendations for having to wait so long, and I also spoke to him about someone coming in after me and getting their food. But his response was if he gets a phone call from trick, saying somebody is call me. They have to fix their plate and give it to them. But there was no phone call made. This guy just showed up, tip. The girls more money, and then they gave him his plate. So after asking him? Can he accommodate for me for my weight? Because I spent over $200. Because I placed 4 different orders. The only thing he did was from one of my receipts. He took the drinks off and just completely. Forgot the other orders that I ordered. And didn't even give me my other receipts. I was very disappointed in my experience this time. Because the first time I went. It was friendly, it was fast service, it was good service and everything was given to you with the smile. This time, it was a lot of kittens and childishness, and also after me getting talking to the manager, other people started to talk to the manager, and he re find it so many people order back because they were Tired of Waiting and they ordered like a hour after me and it was like well with You or did this and You didn't get your food.
