I love Wynwood, the vibe, the art, and the food! Some of my favorite places to eat are located in this area. Now I can add the ice cream of Dasher & Crank to my list. This ice cream shop was opened in April of 2019 by owner Daniel Levine. Levine's mission statement is "Happiness to our community through ice cream". This pink shop is adorable. It is set up with the Instagram photo in mind, from the framed witty sayings to the angel wings painted on the wall. There are so many places to pose your ice cream for that perfect social media picture.

My favorite thing about this place is the flavors. I love it when an ice cream place has something that makes me want to bust out of my standard order of chocolate chip mint. On the night we visited Dasher & Crank offered best seller ube, early gray, and lemon speculoos. Those are flavors I can get excited about. All of the artisan flavors are made in house in small batches. So far they have created 425 flavors and they change the flavors up each week. Dasher & Crank keeps things fresh with collaborations with restaurants, breweries, and purveyors throughout Miami. Some of their past creations have included raspberry wasabi, salmon, sour cream and onion, everything bagel, and chicken and waffles.

After tasting a few flavors, I picked a scoop of pretty and delicious lavender in a cone (6.25). I have tasted lavender in other places where it is overpowering with the floral but this one didn't have that problem. The cone was so fresh and delicious too. The ice cream was more of a gelato consistency in that it melted quickly. Prepare to photograph fast and eat quickly. I loved mine but I don't think my friend was as enamored as she left half behind in her cup.

Ice cream can be purchased in cups, cones, and in pints. In addition to ice cream they also sell cookies, brownies, craft beer, soda, floats with beer and soda, matcha, wellness lattes, and coffee. I would definitely come back to see what other flavors they have concocted as their creativity is...

We found out about this ice cream place while having lunch at Kush for my birthday. We asked what they had for dessert, and we immediately went for the Dasher and Crank vegan ice cream. They gave us a sample. The ice cream was creamy, purple in color and tasted like sweet potatoes. It was so delicious we asked who makes it. To our surprise, the ice cream shop who supplies Kush, The Spillover, and Vicky's House vegan ice cream was just a short distance away.

So, Kush brought me to this delicious ice cream parlor. The decor and furnishings are glossy, powder blue, and a pretty in pink color. Random stairs/steps to sit on, or stand if the kids so desire. but never mind that. I'm here for ice cream to later indulge in the privacy of my own home. And that I did!

Although they were pretty busy, I was greeted with smiles. They have an assortment of ice creams, 18 extraordinary rotating flavors to be precise, but only 3 are vegan. As I'm looking around waiting to be helped, there I saw a mini fridge with the words "TAKE A PINT HOME." So, I took 2 pints home: Ube Macapuno and Coco Mocha Chip. Regrettably, I did not take Salty Beach home with me. Each pint will set you back $10.00.

The three vegan ice creams available when I went (4/16/19) were: Ube Macapuno - made with Filipino purple yams and coconut. It is rich, creamy, and intense in yam flavor. Salty Beach - made with coconut, sea salt, and graham cracker crumbs. I did not buy this one :( Coco Mocha Chip - made with Per'la coffee, exquisito 73% dark chocolate, and coconut. This ice cream is a great choice for all coffee lovers. It is very creamy, bursting with coffee flavor, and filled with chocolate chunks that adds texture.

Parking is limited, but if you find a spot, you can use your PaybyPhone App:...

I don't know how, but I ended up here on a day when every scoop was $1 if you used Apple pay. Thanks Apple! The flavors here are insane. I proposed a "Miami Driver" flavor that mixes red, yellow, and green sorbet and a splash of rum just like most Miami drivers do before they hit the road. The service here is great. Miami is moist, humid, and hot so the cold treat is a great refresher. Ideally, you'd have this on an empty stomach but likely you're just gorging more after your gluttonous brunch before you drive your family back to your home in Pinecrest / Kendall. Still works though. I highly recommend any of the sorbets. The ice cream is good too, but given global dairy intolerance, its days are numbered.

I have ordered from Dasher & Crank many times in the past before I moved. While visiting Miami, I looked forward to ordering my favorite Ube ice-cream. Apparently they didn’t have enough Ube so they added vanilla and added this obnoxious note on the top of the container!! How rude. Whoever tried to call did not have a Miami number so why would I answer AND my voicemail says to text me which they did not. Called to complain and the kid on the phone was even more rude. When I asked who the manager was he said he didn’t know. What the hell! Ice-cream might be good if you get the right flavors but I do not give my money to bozo operations who are rude. Support a more professional business and skip this one
