I used to bring my girlfriend to this restaurant about 10 years ago. Recently, craving a healthy meal with an exotic flavor, I decided to stop by DON CAMARON SEAFOOD GRILL at 501 NW 37th Ave, Miami, FL 33125.
Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by one of the waiters, Gloria, who said, "Buenas tardes, mi Rey 👑." Her sweet welcome assured me that I was going to enjoy my meal. Gloria escorted me to a seat of my choice and genuinely asked how my day was going. Her attentiveness set a positive tone for my dining experience.
I started by ordering a small seafood soup, but Gloria suggested I might enjoy the larger size if I was really hungry. I was craving ceviche, knowing it’s always fresh at Don Camaron. She asked if I liked octopus, and when I said yes, she brought me the day's special. The octopus was tender, lightly seasoned with butter, and accompanied by sliced potatoes and grilled red peppers. It was absolutely delicious!
After enjoying my warm soup and octopus, Gloria suggested a cortadito, which I happily accepted while she described the dessert menu. I chose the Bahama Momma, a delightful ending to a fantastic meal.
The atmosphere at Don Camaron is fresh, and the place is clean. I will definitely start coming back regularly after a decade away. Highly...
Read moreI always enjoy coming to Don Camaron. The servers though mostly spanish speakers are attentive as can be. Between the Okeechobee location and this one we have been here over a dozen times. The food is always fresh and hot. They have a seafood soup and one thing I like is that they always accommodate us with our special request such as low salt or no fish add shrimp. To me this is a sign that there are cooks in the kitchen and not someone opening and heating a plastic bag. I don't usually do fried food but this last time I ordered the conch fritters and they were fantastic; served with lime and what tasted like a homemade tarter sauce. All of us at the table ordered the rice and shrimp dish the amount was a generous portion with plenty of shrimp and comes with a side dish. We all had plenty too take home. I passed on their sinful dessert I've had before, Bahama Mama, I think they call it. I had to save some calories especially after having those conch fritters. I did finish the meal with a perfectly executed cortadito with a foam...
