Third world country supermarket. Used to be Winn Dixie, they changed the name but I believe they are one and the same. I understand because of demographics they appeal to the hispanic population. But I take it as an insult that they have lowered the standards to suit the population of the area. What? Like hispanics deserve to be treated like third world country customers? Don't recommend buying meat or dairy products there, I think they save money on electricity and you can tell their ice cream has melted and refrozen (that is a health hazard due to bacteria development) I remember when they opened the new store with the new name and look I bought chicken that apparently had spent hours out of the refrigerator because it was dripping bloody water on the floor, what does that tell you? In addition, they don't have the express line cashiers open at the busiest times. Their cashiers are very slow, they have huge lines and they don't care about opening more when it is busy. Terrible! And the music, I feel like I am in Mexico or some other country. This is how FRESCO Y ALGO MAS sees its customers, like third world country population that doesn't deserve better than what they left behind when...
Read moreWitnessed a cashier be rude and very unnecessarily suspicious towards a young black male customer (IDing him for cash back? And then refusing to do more than one cash back transaction), behavior that has never once been directed at me and I’ve been regularly patronizing this store for years. She claimed it was a “new policy.”
This isn’t the first time I’ve personally witnessed there be an unnecessarily unpleasant undercurrent between staff and black (the ones who are American, not black Latinos) customers.
This time I tried to speak to the manager about how short the cashier was, but he was very dismissive and he defended the cashier (despite him not being there for the interaction, and having no idea whether or not she was in fact rude). He did not care.
He also informed me that the “policy” can be arbitrarily enforced, meaning the cashier “randomly” chose this one black customer to be suspicious of (I wonder why).
Very disappointing. Be careful where you shop. Racial biases often aren’t overt, but that doesn’t mean they don’t impact the customer...
Read moreOur recent visit to Fresco y Más was a pleasant experience overall. The store had a welcoming atmosphere with vibrant displays of fresh produce and a wide variety of groceries. I appreciated the well-organized aisles, making it easy to find what I needed.
The produce section was particularly impressive, with a great selection of fruits and vegetables that were fresh and reasonably priced. The staff was helpful and courteous, readily available to assist when I needed help locating an item.
One thing we noticed was the authentic cultural vibe, which added a nice touch to the shopping experience. The store offered a range of Hispanic and Latin American products, which is a plus for those looking for specific ingredients or trying something new.
Fresco provided a satisfying shopping experience, and I would definitely return for the quality products and...
