Wow!
This place rocks I was very impressed by Jimmy's from the moment I walked in until I left. Once I walked in I was immediately greeted by my server who invited me to sit wherever I'd like.
The atmosphere here is lovely and the only tip I have on that note is bring a jacket because it was cold in there and people that know me will tell you I'm never cold...
They are very speedy and efficient here I'm not sure where they got their training from but please keep it up. If only some other places I frequent had this mentality and speed with service... 🥰
I ordered the 2 eggs scrambled with cheese, with bacon strips 🥓, country grits with cheese 🧀 and white bread. Let me stop you right here.. I've been to a boatload of breakfast joints around Miami and Jimmy's takes the cake! Literally everything I had was succulent, hot and came fresh to the table. I don't normally drink coffee but I did today and it was soooo good.. Most places don't really know how to properly make grits but Jimmy's has it down pat and on lock. 🙏
Breakfast has always had a special place in my heart since my late grandmother always fixed me breakfast whenever I would visit her no matter the time of day. I really go out of my way to find breakfast and it's not normally in the early morning hours. This morning I was up early and wanted to see what else I could find. Jimmy's was a place that really made me feel at home and the food brought me flashbacks with my grandma. I'll never forget it!
So when a place really rocks out with the breakfast they deserve the recognition. Jimmy's was super on-point with the cleanliness, hospitality, order accuracy, store maintenance was well upkept, food quality superb and speed with service. Those are the main things that really deserve 5 stars in my book. I highly encourage you to check Jimmy's Eastside Diner out I don't think you'll be...
Read moreWe visited Jimmy’s for a family dinner. It was 5 of us . The food is really nice but the service is just appalling. When it came to pay we were expected to pay 18% on top of our bill , it wouldn’t be a problem however the note on the menu says the service charge is added for 6 or more people. The owner said I must pay the tip simple as , I’ve challenged him by pointing out to the note on his own menu and said I pay the tip as much as I can afford to. What owner said ?” THEN DON’T EAT OUTSIDE”. The waitress was ok she brought our food and that’s it not a $20 tip service for sure. I felt well embarrassed that the owner had this kind of attitude in front of my children and other customers. Not an American service I was expected for sure. The tip is given accordingly to the service received. Stinky attitude which is a pity because food is really good.
@owner at Jimmys . Thank you for your rather again rude , appalling reply. If someone says I can’t afford to leave more than C amount and you are making a scene telling your own customers “THEN DON’T Eat OUTSIDE “ in front of other customers and kids that’s not a good service. It’s lack of professionalism, stinky attitude and completely lack of empathy. As I’ve said I don’t believe the service received was for 20$ tip. The waitress only brought us food , basic fulfilling of her work duty and please let me judge as a customer what service I’ve received . Besides check a note on your menu which clearly says the 18%tip will be automatically added if served more than 6 people. It was 5 of us and waitress cheekily added a tip to the bill on her own. Says a lot! I’m tipping based on service received unless there is a clear note that the food will include x% of tips. I appreciate she makes money out of tips, to get more give $ more from yourself. Best regards stay...
Read moreMy daughter and I ate here on 08/03/12 while staying at the New Yorker Boutique Hotel on Biscayne Blvd.
We were looking for something quick and satisfying. We chose this place because 1) my daughter was tired of walking and 2) I figured with it being a diner, you could pretty much order any type of meal regardless of the time of day.
We walked in about 15 minutes before closing (weird since it was going on 3pm; maybe they close and reopen for dinner). We were directed to the counter where we viewed the menu.
Now don't let the inside of the diner detour you; it does have an old greasy spoon feel that makes you wonder if you should eat here. The waitress was very friendly and the service was fast. I wanna say we were there maybe a total of 15-20 minutes.
I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger Combo with steak fries, a slice of key lime pie and a pineapple soda. My daughter had the Philly Cheesesteak with steak fries, a slice of apple pie and a pineapple soda. We paid roughly $30 tip not included, which is expensive.
Got back to the hotel room, got comfortable and bam! I must say it was one of the best diner meals I've had! The burger was huge, well done on a Kaiser Bun with hot fat crispy bacon, cheese (maybe cheddar) fresh lettuce, tomato and pickles. The steak fries were just right. This was one of the best diner burgers I've enjoyed in a long time; it reminded me of Five Guys Burger and Fries. The burger was perfect!
My daughter loved her phillysteak! Now the pie slices were not as appealing but still tasted good.
Spending $30 didn't bother me after devouring the meal. I went right to sleep afterwards.
We enjoyed the food so much that we debated going back before our flight to get another meal. I would recommend Jimmy's...
