After watching The Lion King: The Musical, I was walking towards the Melody Tower to retrieve my car when I spotted a pizzeria called New York Pizza and decided to get a slice of pizza to take home. The pizzeria had plenty of table seating for customers and offers the following:
Various whole pizzas (Brooklyn Style) Pizza by the slice Salads Paninis Pastas Wings Cold beverages/beer/wine
I was greeted by a pleasant male employee who took my order of a cheese slice to go. In less than five minutes, my pizza slice was placed in a box and handed to me. There's bottles of parmesan cheese, oregano, and red pepper flakes on the counter if you want to add any to your pizza. Yeah it was definitely New York pizza...after taking a quick bite of the slice, I saw the stretch of cheese which I happily stuffed into my mouth.
Though I grew up in the Bronx, this big Brooklyn style pizza was pretty damn good and it wasn't greasy. The pizza slice had a flavorful sauce and cheese evenly spread on a nicely baked thin crust. I don't know when, but I would most likely return to...
Read moreWhat an amazing find! Originally went to the Latin Cafe inside near the school, 1444 Biscayne Blvd. Then suddenly got the cravings for the New York pizza they advertised and asked about the pizza. The proprietor called ahead to their other store and spoke to someone giving them our description and they came out to the corner to meet us, now who does that anymore? Wow thank you for going that extra mile. We ordered the large supreme it took about 20 minutes and the cook brought out the pizza and the young lady brought us our drinks. Excellent service. The atmosphere and seating is very reminiscent of a local corner store mom and pop, very comforting and cozy. Of course everyone's wondering, the prices, very moderate $$. Now the important part, the food! Well, the crust was, OMG! Such a crunch of flavor and aroma. Very shockingly tasty along with some shock to discover this hidden treasure. I would highly recommend anyone attending the theater to allow extra time and stop in for a slice of heaven it's...
Read moreSo, I went here with my family on a whim. I looked over and saw a pizza place and asked if anyone wanted a late bite to eat. I was hungry as well. Living in Sarasota hasn’t let me enjoy a great pizza so it’s been basically out of my diet for the last three years since moving down from Long Island where it’s a staple for a lot of us New Yorkers.
I went inside and saw some huge thin slices that didn’t look appealing because it wasn’t right out of the oven. I’m smart when it comes to trying new pizza. I always only ask for a slice and if it meets my standards I will order more.
So that’s what I did and needless to say, I ended up ordering 3 slices. I could have eaten 8! The slices while big in shape were only a quarter inch thick, foldable and delicious. I am going back tonight, lol, before heading back to Sarasota. I’m gonna get a fresh pie and eat the whole damn thing!!!
It is a fantastic place for a late night slice and they are open late also....
